Kisses, Kisses and More Kisses....

baby girl kisses, momma kisses and most of all big sister kisses were all lavished on my quite endlessly last night!! And it goes without saying that I loved it and did absolutely nothing to discourage any of them ...... :cheer: :clappurple: :excited: :yay:  :yay: :cheer:

Earlier in the week Kim PM'ed me with an invitation to visit so that I could meet Gracie and Virginia and of course see Mady again. Well despite something of a snow and ice storm in which I really shouldn't have gone out, I did indeed journey back to Canada and visit with Mady, Virginia and Gracie. Oh and David and Kim as well.

It was a wonderful couple of hours that passed by quicker than I could have imagined. Mady, as usual celebrated my arrival with a flurry of franitc bum wiggles and kisses. Seems this little girl has something of an affinity for her Uncle Carl - Kim tells me I am the only one greated quite so enthusiastically. Nobody else was getting to meet me until she decided I had been well and truly welcomed to her house. Momma Virginia seemd to immediately accept Mady's judgement that I'm an okay Bobtail person and came up to meet me and very quickly gave me kisses and bum wiggles (but not quite as intense as Mady's bum wiggles are) but kisses and bum wiggles nonetheless. Virginia is one sweet lady, very loving and wonderfully gentle and attentive, a true cuddlebug of the highest order. Once the front door commotion had settled down a bit I was escorted into the living room by these lovely women and then got the chance to meet Gracie properly. She was sort of at the front door but with all the big girl's commotion she couldn't get close enough for much of a greeting.

And Gracie is, as we all expected, a lovely little bundle of non-stop energy. I had forgotten just how soft those baby puppy coats are and maybe just how sharp puppy teeth and nails are. It has been far too long since we had our own puppy of any breed and most importantly a bouncing Bobtail baby. Gracie was charming with her little bouncing pounces and shrill excited puppy barks while she played with me a little bit but most of all Mady and Virginia. It was great fun to see them all playing and even more fascinating to see the relationships between each of them and how they intereacted with me as a family. Mady as ever had to come over to me quite regularly for fuss and attention. Virginia was similarly attentive to me and Mady had no objections to me spending some time with her momma. It was a little different though when I was interacting with Gracie. At one point I had Gracie on my lap and was playing with/petting her and Mady came over and stood very close "muscling in" for her share of my time. There was no aggression whatsoever but she certainly seemed to be saying "hey you are MY uncle Carl, pay attention to me, not the little ankle nipper"! We all chatted Bobtail, the new Bobtail path that David and Kim had set out upon and general multi-dog family concerns as well as a bit about showing and some of what it entails and requires.

It was a great evening that passed far quicker than it had any right to and which could have easily lasted much longer. But David and Kim have had some long days and short nights so I did my best not to overstay my welcome. Gracie should have her final puppy shots somewhere about month's end so next time we get together we might be able to add Dawn Eline into the mix and see how they all get along. Mady and Dawnie really love each other as David has shown in photos of our last visit when Mady shared her toys and kisses with Dawn very liberally and without any coaxing.

Kim and David have definetely got a wonderful bunch of kids and are pretty much as doting over them as Michele and I are over ours. Really great family growth guys and thanks for letting me experience it so soon after Gracie and Virginia's arrival. Michele is jealous so now she is threatening to get her own Bobtail again....

A great evening was enjoyed by all parties if I dare say so myself. Looking forward to more shared time with Dawn involved as well.

Thanks and Cheers

Carl

I wish that I could explain to people just how INSANE Mady gets when Uncle Carl visits. I fully expect her back end to just fall off with all of the wiggling. And it was fascinating to see Mady let Gracie know that Carl belonged to Mady. She doesn't tend to be a territorial or possessive girl, but obviously Carl is a treasure to be guarded at all costs!! I can't wait for Dawnie to visit. Four bobtail girls frolicking around will be so much fun. And thanks, Carl, for always being so supportive. We feel very lucky to have you so close. Next visit I promise to feed you! And Michele, get up here and visit soon!
Thanks for sharing your special day with us!

Carl, you obviously have a talent for writing as I felt myself caught up in the entire tale and could actually visualize that I was there too. Ah I lived precariously through you folks!

Nothing is better than being on the receiving end of sheepie kisses !

Thanks Carl for the wonderful depiction of last evening, I feel like I was there too!
Glad you made it back home safe.

It is a very good thing that Carl informed me of this visit.....else I would have been wondering about the title of this thread. (BTW just a reminder dear....the last time I had a bobtail kiss...not to mention a Carl kiss was MARCH 2011)

Ok, whine over (maybe).

I really do live vicariously through everyone here. A Bobtail-less life is a sad, pathetic life for sure.

The word jealous does not even begin to describe my feelings on this.

Love love love the pics of the BBB's of Ottawa. BBB(Bouncy, Bobtail....uh...Beauties)

Adore the name Gracie....love the name Virginia (it was my mom's and she'd be so happy to know that there is a sweet Bobtail with her name)

Thanks Kim, for the invite but I've been told I can't come home. Hugs to you all....
Some shots from the visit:

Carl arrives:

Gracie wants in on that action:

Unfortunately, Mady is not very welcoming...

"Gracie? She's not that interesting really, not like me!"

:wag:
:clappurple: What fun! I love the idea of all those but wiggles & kisses :D
I had to laugh at those pictures!

Chewie is a wiggle, wiggler too and gently kisses his favorite people.
One of them is our friend Donaven - they have his Samoyed buddies that we do lots of activities with.
Chewie has ALWAYS loved Donaven and he gets greeted by Chewie, just like Mady does with Carl! :aww:
His wife Linda and I just sit and chuckle every time he does it!
Poor Mady, having to share but she got her kisses in.
Looks like a warm wiggly welcome for a good friend. :hearts:
What a great story, thanks for sharing, I felt like I was there. Sheepie's have a way to make you feel welcome. Nothing like a big wiggle but!
