Now We've Gone and Done It

See what happens when you talk about something alot...Kim and David talked about getting a puppy, and what happens? They get another adult AND a puppy.

You talk about something endlessly and it happens....

SNOW

Yep, its gonna happen(gasp) and soon. Not just a little piddle either but a dump. Anywhere from 5-9 inches(groan). My back hurts already.

Just had to keep talking about it.....

OK, Pam. I was fine with the whole "Mady's going to get a puppy" thing, but how could you mention the four-letter "S" word??!! Though I live in Illinois and you live in Wisconsin, I probably live closer to you than I live to Heather in Chicago, or to Cindy in Joliet. You have doomed us to a blizzard!!!

Can you take it back??? :plead:

Now don't get mad with me(whine), I'm just repeating what the weather is saying. You think I like it....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm still in the denial phase and choose not to believe them! :plead:

I just keep repeating so mother nature can hear me; NO SNOW, NO SNOW, NO SNOW! It's worked up until now.

Cindy
If it makes you feel any better, we are bracing for yet another 6"-1 foot tonight :potstir:

This, overtop of today's bizarre shift into 40F and RAIN :? 8O

Im not actually planning to get out of BED tomorrow, much less step out the door. I have given up all pretense of coping. :P
Pam, if your talking about things is powerful enough to make these things happen, can you start talking about how slim and fit I am getting? I would love for that without me having to do anything.

  Add one in there for me too Please!!!

I'm in Chicago too and boy am I ready!!! At work now but loaded up boots, winter coat, hat, scarf, gloves, and the puppy's boots to play outside when I get home!!! Can't wait!
The older I get the more I HATE snow. The forecast is 3-6 inches depending on where you live. That's no problem in a normal winter. But we've had NO snow yet, so even an inch is throwing me into a tizzy. Our condo board meets tonight a mile from my house and I've already told the other members that I might not make it.

I think I'm over-reacting....
I would love snow we don't get alot
Well, we had the whole weather advisory.... and we only got a dusting, and lots of wind.....so maybe you will luck out!?
It is currently snowing in the Chicago 'burbs. Not too heavy and small flakes...nothing big.

I did remember to locate my ice scraper/snow brush before leaving for work this morning. :phew: It was right where I thought it was...Taylor teeth marks and all
^^^^ Just Taylor personalizing your ice scraper! :D

Snowing now. YUK!!!!!! Hoping we are on the low end of the spectrum, but it's most likely just wishful thinking......

My idea of luck, I think varies far different from yours. I think "no snow, no snow" chanting will not work now as its snowing and almost covers the grass...I can see the roads are not going to be good...glad I don't have to go anywhere.

How bout talking about "not much snow" and we will see how that works.

 From the title and this first sentence, I figured you went and got a sheepie puppy! :cow:

No sheepie puppies in my future. I was, no, am going to get a golden...in the spring...working on getting dh on the same page...its hard work.

Gar was supposed to be a golden, he may be obnoxious but I wouldn't trade him so I just need to work on dh now.
I wager her puppy will be a different color and she's smart enough not to get one when you have to go outside in the S-word to potty train it!

Unlike some.

So, it's official, Dawn - your puppy has seen his first snow, tasted it, rolled in it, been rolled in it, gotten soaked in it...

I'm waiting for that nice, dry blowing snow they say will be coming later...If it MUST s*ow, at least let it not be the wet, mucky stuff

Paula - I'm with you - out of practice so even 4-6 " sounds like A LOT.

Kristine
Yay...and Chewie will be so happy :D :D
He lives with a bunch of wimps.... ...these guys are just not that into snow as he is. Biscuit is the only one who likes it, but Chewie herds him so much that he quits playing and hides!!
So far here in north east WI we haven't gotten that much either. It's getting colder windier, that's what I worry about because then we lose electricity.

Suppose to get more tomorrow but think roads may be tricky so don't plan on going anywhere.
We hardly got any snow (maybe an inch), but got the big winds and drop in temp.
We had a little excitement, a semi caught ice and a crosswind gust and went into a lake along the road. It was in Waseca, about 15 miles east of us. Clear Lake is right along the road as it comes into town, and frankly I'm amazed it doesn't happen way more often.

Here's one with a better picture. The highway comes into town and wraps right around the edge of the lake....no guard rail, nothing!
http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2012/01/1 ... -injuries/

Today it was 8F during the day, but -8 to -10F with windchill.
Actually pretty normal, but the great warm temps before left us sadly spoiled. :?
As far as snow goes, we got plenty. Puppies are loving it. ALMOST got a picture of boy before he tore off

Sure is pretty as long as you don't have to drive in it :twitch:

I know right where that is Dawn. The campground I stayed at is right by that section. I thought the same thing when I stayed there, what happens in the winter without a guard rail there?

Yep, it's right across from Kiesler's Campground on the east edge of town.
It has been that way forever...when I moved down here in 1980 I was amazed the lake was right up to the highway like that.
And that's one section where the 4 lane is not done yet, so all the traffic and semi's come right through town. :(

Those dang "almost" pictures!

And no snow here, just the dusting that blew away.....where does it all blow to, anyway???

It blows north, Dawn, then heads a bit east and dumps on us here in Ottawa. Thanks!

Apparently my dog yard, my driveway...

Note to self: get sled so I can pull garbage down to road for pickup...

That was fun this morning. Not. We only got six inches, but with the blowing it did get interesting in spots. And the near miss pic was sooooo cute. I'm so bummed i missed it.
