Where do you keep this stuff?

One of my goals is to keep my dining room table free of papers. I know where to file obvious stuff, like bills. But where do you keep the newspaper clippings, the coupons, the scraps with stuff you want to buy from Ebay, etc? I don't have a desk. My laptop lives under my dining room table and I pull it out when necessary. I tried putting the stuff in a folder, but then I have a folder that I don't know what's in it!

I guess I need some organizing tips....

We have an antique oak filing cabinet in the den closet... I file all things of the "want to keep, may need someday" in there. I can't tolerate clutter. A bit OCD. My Mom uses one of her kitchen cabinets to file papers. She has a pull-out organizer, and keeps her papers there. I'm sure there are others out there with really cool ideas!
I solved this one for us with those hardsided magazine holders you can buy, the kind which can then sit upright on a bookcase.

clippings go in a (labeled) folder, grouped with other related folders, then into a magazine holder, also labeled and onto a bookcase.

We have a LOT of this kind of crap at our house between all of my and my husbands varied hobbies and interests, so it used to drive me up a wall  They're useful in my studio too, for all my reference photos and other small loose papers.

A REAL challenge? How to organize all my husbands various, numerous and widely scattered computer parts  Suggestions? :plead:
Throw them out! Or keep a file for when you will look at them again...which I can almost guarantee will be never
I have started scanning that kind of stuff into my laptop.
I can organize it anyway I want and delete as it is no longer needed.
Thank goodness I am photo packrat!

I bought this at Ikea JUST specifically for that issue. I's a 4x4 cube system, and you can fill the cubes with many options. I have a mix of 2 baskets (the rattan looking ones); 2 doors and 2 (2 drawer) sets on the 2nd row; several different storage boxes and a bunch of those magazine holders.

It is the best thing I've ever done ...it improves the look of that part of the house, and adds storage yet keeps it all hidden and organized!
