Volunteers needed for dog walking...

... Or what away to start off the year. Sunday afternoon I found myself in an Urgent Care getting my right big toe looked at; I cut the nail too short and it got infected. I had a bad reaction to the antibiotic they put me on so I called them back today to discuss. The chief Doctor reviewed my case and wanted me to come back in. So I found myself there again tonight.

The Doc took one look at my toe and recommended cutting off/out the part that caused the infection saying that not doing this would allow it to keep coming back. Not wanting to go thru this anymore I said sure. So, after four local numbing shots, Doc cut out the offending nail bits. Thankfully this guy is good and the only pain I had we from the four shots.

Now, I'm sitting here in pain from the shots that wore off and I won't get my perscription filled for Vicodin until tomorrow morning... Not pleasent at all. The Doc wants me off my feet for three to four days so the dogs will have to wait for a walk or hope for the 'zoomies' to hit a lot over the rest of the week.

Wish me luck; trapped in a house with a VERY rambunctious 7 month old Sheepie and Zoey too.

Ouch! Do you have a wagon? They could pull you! Wish I was close to help...would love spending time we your sweeties. Take care!
Funny you say that. For years, I've been threatening to make a Iditarod style sled as I have a huge pile of nice treated wood. Jen and I were talking about this just last week. I should have done it last week when I had some down time. :|

I'm so sorry about the toe. Ouch! I hope you're a fast healer.
Ouch is right. Sounds miserable, coping with foot pain is difficult. Hope your babies don't step on your foot. Charm steps all over me sometimes, like when I won't move out of Her way  Feel better soon.
Last night I had to go out on the deck to get the girls in and sure enough, Zoey's first step after getting up was squarely on THE toe - OOOOOOUUUUCCCCHHH!!! This was right as the injected numbing stuff was wearing off. Sadly, that set the pain level for the night at 11 on the famous 1-10 scale. It was a VERY rough and long night

Good for you for getting help for your toe...so many folks tend to ignore problems with their feet. Hope you heal quickly.

Hmm, comfy steeltoed slippers are what you need :bulb: .

I would volunteer but it's a bit far for me to travel

Hope your toe is better soon !!!!
Ouch is right and probably an understatement. As for your girl stepping on your toe..double ouch! I hope you feel better soon and you have my sympathy. Good luck with finding a dog walker.

I'm sure OUCH is an understatement!!!! I would be using much stronger language. Don't know why but it seems to help. :? Hope you are feeling better. Did you get the script yet? Boost it with a little cocktail :P I wish I could help with the little darlings but I wouldn't want to return them. :D
I did finally get my script :D and now that you mention it, I do have a bottle of 20 year old Appleton's Select rum... Mmmmmmmmmm

As for the language... I'm pretty creative and VERY colorful but for some reason I didn't mutter a word when Zoey deposited the better part of 80 pounds on my toe. It hurt more than losing the nail itself.

Thanks for all the well-wishes.

Yuk, injections into toes really hurt.

Tiggy is one for stepping on toes too. She does it most when she is about to take off running. Extra force, not nice. Sorry about your toe but at least it'll help alleviate problems in the future.
I feel your pain. :(

I have a toenail that grows badly and curls in and causes ingrown nails. I even have had it surgically removed twice and part of the nail bed "killed" in attempts to straighten it out - but it did not work. Dr says the next step would be to remove it again and kill all the nail bed so no nail regrows. I am just not ready to commit to that! 8O
So, I live with a chronically sore and sensitive toe, and of COURSE Chewie unfailingly steps squarely just on that one big toe.

I hope yours heals as soon as possible!!
oweee oweee! Sounds really painful! Rum sounds like a plan!

Take care and keep it elevated!
OUCH! Hope your toe heals quickly.
