I had noticed the same thing. Glad you asked.
I have missed her too! Hope all is ok!
I sent her a pm several days ago, as I too have been missing her. She says that all is well, she has just been incredibly busy and not on the forums but she is well and when things settle a bit we will see her back on the forums.
 SORRY!!!!

Im such a rotten E-friend these days!

The holiday season just totally kicked my butt this year 8O . In order to get all my work done, I had to make resolutions to stay OFF of my computer, away from all books, and even neglect most of my real-life friends :( . Even my poor dogs wound up spending most of the last few months feeling like Mama had abandoned them  .

Im not at all sure WHY this happened :lmt: It seems to have been equal parts : Lots of customers suddenly deciding they needed large and elaborate special order artwork for Christmas...and: Laurel falling into some sort of time warp were November suddenly appeared right after August  8O

Seriously...I had original artwork that people ordered from me during the Summer, that I was delivering (gift wrapped !) on Christmas EVE!!! What the heck???

Im delighted that my business is booming, but I have GOT to get a better grip on my time management issues. :twitch: Banning myself from the computer (except to check e-mail, and yes...pop in here for a quick glance once in a while  ) helped...but I missed you guys and all my other e-friends (there's a Sci-Fi writer's chatroom wondering where the heck I went too! ), so I need to come up with better solutions.

Spring (as in *post X-mas, Pre-summer*...January-May) is my "slow" time, so now is a good time to figure this out. Any suggestions, especially from other self-employed folks, is appreciated! My recent time management problems seem to stem at least partially from the last few years health problems (hives, headaches, etc, etc) and the fact that I STILL dont have the sort of stamina I used to. I cant get used to no longer being able to really push myself physically when I want to. No longer being able to "push it" means I have to actually plan my time out better...if that makes sense?? :headbang:
THERE you are! So glad to hear everything is ok-- and that you are just busy. VERY busy it sounds like!

Were you able to relax and enjoy any of the Christmas Holiday?

I have NO suggestions for time managment. I am the worst when is comes to managing my time!

I am sure others are much better at suggesting ideas, and will chime in. Good to "see you".... :clappurple: :wag:
I'm glad you are okay, and its great to hear that your business has been booming! Can you share some of your new artwork with us???? :plead:

nope :!:
Awesome that your business is booming. Way to go! I hope it's even more successful in 2012. I'm sure you'll find the way to better manage your time. Make up a schedule with pop-up reminders or printed out version that you could add check marks to. It will help you visualize the tasks you have to complete, their deadlines, and you'll be able to monitor your success rate.

You could start your day with some self-motivational type of thinking/meditation/visualization. This would be a very powerful way to get going in the morning.

You could also add some regular exercise to your daily routine. Even if you started your day with a bunch of 10-minute stretches, that will boost up your stamina, not to mention the overall health benefits.

Switch to healthier food sources. If you're not taking multivitamins and EPA/DHA, add them to your diet. Opt for the high quality ones, like Life Extension Foundation products. In terms of food, eat not 3, but 5 times a day. Protein shakes, fruits, veggies, meat rich in lean protein, raw almonds, milk, Greek or Bulgarian yogurt... Find ways to make sure you drink one 8 oz cup of water each waking hour. If the taste of water is too plain, drink green or white tea (for example Mighty Leaf).

All this should make a great difference in building up your motivation and channeling your energy in the right direction.

Ill try uploading some pics later today (once I find my camera's cord-thingy)

Unfortunately, most of what I did this winter was commissions, which in many cases I was so anxious about getting framed and to the customer that I neglected to get photos! :headbang:
Laurel it is great to hear from you. Fantastic about your business...good news. Hopefully you'll stay busy, but stop in time to time to keep us updated. How is Gertie doing? I hope you find your camera thingy soon. :santa:
It's great news about your business, you really are so talented.

I think you should just cut out sleep altogether, who needs that anyway?!

Yes, please????
Hi Laurel,
I've been absent a lot too, due to work load.
I'd had wondered where you were but noticed you logged on a couple of times, so figured like me you were managing to read the odd post but had no time to answer. Mind you it may have been months ago that you were logged on, I got in the same time warp you did, and voila there we were in November all of a sudden. 8O
Glad to hear your business is going so well. I know what you mean about getting everything done. Just remember to include some of the things you like to do each day and take care of yourself first.
:)
Glad to hear that business is great! Hope you can catch up in the next few months!

I am self-employed and I too have struggled at times with deadline mania! The older I get the more important it is to me to plan well so that deadlines are not so hectic! I used to be able to pull all nighters with no problem! Not any more--just don't have the stamina I once had!
