Wild Angel July 4, 1998 - December 7, 2011

Today we mourn the loss of our beloved Wild Angel, who passed today at 2 pm. She was 13-1/2 yrs. old. Tonight there's a new Angel waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. :hearts:

In January of 2007, Wild Angel was a 9 yr. old brood bitch in a southern US puppymill before being sold to an Indiana woman on Puppyfind.com. Her new owner kept her for two days before deciding she couldn't care for her and dropped her off at a local shelter. The shelter contacted OES Rescue where she was quickly pulled by a MOESR volunteer. Angel was soon taken into foster care by one of our volunteers who quickly fell in love and adopted this sweet little girl.

Wild Angel began living the good life with a Golden Retriever sister, a huge fenced yard with plenty of squirrels and trips to distance places such as St. Louis Sheepiepalooza, Chicago Sheepiefest, the 2008 OESCA National Specialty Rescue Parade and the Mt. Adams Reindog Parade in Cincinnati. She loved her fur-sister Lexis, and her OES fur-cousins Nelson and Sassy, and adored her mom, Yvonne.

We want to thank South Bend Animal Care and Control for alerting us to Angel being in their facility and for the kindness they always display to our rescue. Thanks to Laurie Marie for making the trip to South Bend, cleaning up and caring for Angel temporarily and transporting her to Kokomo to meet her ride to Greensburg. The biggest thank you goes to our special volunteer and Wild Angel's true angel, Yvonne. Yvonne took a chance on a gorgeous senior girl when others thought her life no longer had value. Raise your glasses in honor of this sweet rescue girl. She really is what rescue is all about.

How wonderful that she was able to live out her days surrounded by love after such a rough start. :ghug:
Wild Angel give my Pooh Bear a big lick at Rainbow Bridge for us. Tell him I miss him terribly!

I am so sorry to hear about Wild Angel.
She was so lucky to have Yvonne take her in for those final years but I know that Yvonne benefited from having Angel in her life too.

This isn't much of a picture since Wild Angel is looking down as she heads down the stairs into the shop at the very first Sheepiepalooza, but I thought I would include it here anyway.

We will miss you Angel.

Take care Yvonne. :ghug:
What a lucky girl, Angel was! Annie is giving her a love bite at the Rainbow Bridge :hearts:
Rest in Peace Wild Angel--you were loved. :hearts: :hearts:
Ooooh. :( I'm so sorry to see that Angel has passed on to that said to be beautiful
place. She was proof that a 9 year old dog can still have many good years left.
Yvonne did good by her special girl... I bet the both felt blessed to have had their time
together.

:ghug:
Dearest wild angel.
You sound like my perfect partner in crime.
Please Play with me at the bridge.
Love, pandemonium
Rest in Peace Wild Angel

I'm so sorry for the loss of Angel by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. It appears she touched many lives as well as many who touched hers. She is the example of what rescue is all about. She knew happiness and love and was given a second chance to experience that with people who loved her.

May she now be running free at the bridge.

Hugs from Marianne
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of sweet sheepie girl wild Angel. I remember seeing pic of her from the different events she attended through the years. I always loved her name. RIP beautiful girl.
Nita and Yvonne, I'm so sad and sorry to hear about your special Angel girl. But I'm also very glad that she got to experience love and devotion for the last 4 years of her life. Hopefully the memories of those years wiped out the first 9 years in her mind, and she could realize what a special girl she was. Angels abound in this story, both here on earth and at the Rainbow Bridge.

I'm sorry to hear about Angel's passing but it's beautiful to hear about how she was well loved in the end.
God speed Wild Angel...we will see you again on the other side of the bridge. So sorry for your loss Yvonne
Oh Nita and Von, I am so sorry to hear about Wild Angel. She was such a sweet dog and a true example of the wonderfulness of adopting a senior. May you rest in peace with the other angels, Angel.

Oh, if you put the two side by side Mady you could tell the difference! Angel was one of the smallest bitches I've ever seen. Sorry you guys didn't get to meet her at Sheepiepalooza this year. She really enjoyed going to all the events but over the years she got less tolerant of other dogs and was unable to move like she did in younger years. This year would have been way too difficult for her.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words of sympathy. Vonne doesn't get on the forum much because of her work but I've told her that everyone was posting here. Hopefully she'll come on later to thank everyone herself. Those of you who know Vonne knows how much she loved this little girl so it may be awhile before she is able to write about her. :hearts:
Sorry to hear of Angels passing, she sounded like a wonderful girl. She will have many friends on the other side.
:hearts: :hearts: It always breaks my heart when one of our pets, gracious gifts from God, crosses the Bridge. If they were not so very loved, it wouldn't hurt so much. I believe Rescues KNOW they are getting another chance and they truly understand and love even harder. And it seems like they have always been with you. Yvonne, you were definately Wild Angel's Guardian Angel. Every one here knows how devistating the loss is. Some day, when we are ready these wonderfol angels will send us another gift to love and care for. You have my heartfelt condolences. :hearts: :hearts:    :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
:ghug: :ghug: sorry sorry to hear but she was lucky to have found you all to give her so much love
:ghug: special hugs to all those who adopt older dogs. They need love too, maybe more as their life has been torn apart.
What a darling little girl, bless all those involved in her rescue, what a heartwarming 9 plus years she had in her later life and what a special angel she is.

Sorry for the loss to all that knew her, loved her, rescued her and of course sincere condolances to Yvonne on loosing angel and the care and love you gave her in her golden years.
 :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
awww Nita I am so sorry to hear about wild angel, she was a lucky girl once rescue took her in and she lived with vonne She was a special sheepie. She has joined all our beloved pets that have gone before her. Run free angel :hearts:
I am so sorry for your loss, thankyou Yvonne for giving her a second chance. It really is a sad couple of weeks on the forum... :ghug:
Thanks to everyone for all the kind words. Your thoughts and words have been very comforting. This has been very difficult time for me. Wild Angel was a very special girl and I will miss her. She is on her next journey now. It’s good to know that Lexis, Sassy and many other of her friends will be there to show her the ropes.

I was very hesitant when Nita asked me to foster Wild Angel because I had an older Golden Retriever at the time. Then, I remembered what my vet told me several years ago: When a younger dog comes into a home where an older dog lives, the presence of the new dog would be a positive influence and would keep the older dog young. I brought Angel home and the two dogs became fast friends. I fell in love with Angel at first sight and immediately failed Fostering 101.

On Memorial Day, Nita asked me to foster Tucker, an older OES who had some guarding issues. I told her I would, subject to Angel’s approval. I brought Tucker home. He ran into the house and straight to Wild Angel. I held my breath knowing what was to come next. Angel just sniffed him. She opened her heart and her home to Tucker knowing first-hand what it was like to be homeless and on death row. The two got along famously but if there would be a difference of opinion, it was Angel that won.

Thank you, MOESR, and especially Nita. You’re the best! It’s been a delightful experience to be a volunteer for the Rescue and having such wonderful OES friends!

Sincerely,

Yvonne
Yvonne,
I am so sorry to hear about Angel.
It shows in your post how much you cared about her.
Thank you for giving her the best years of her life.
Yvonne I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You are a treasure for giving a second chance to an older dog. Wild Angel was loved and knew what a Sheepies life should always be like.
You are in my thoughts and prayers and Carley sends hugs.

:ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
Rest in Peace, little one....Us humans will be missing you :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
Have to share one last photo, this one is especially for Judi:
Image

Angel was never crated at Vonne's house but she had a cloth crate for traveling. One year at Sheepiepalooza she decided she liked Harry's crate better and just made herself at home in it!

At Purina Farms, she decided she liked Nelson's "double-wide" 48" crate and made herself at home there. After that, her own crate stayed set up at home and she began using it as her safe haven. Silly girl! :hearts:
I remember meeting her the year I went to sheepiepalooza with Chumley -- was that 2007? I remember thinking she was about the cutest little girl I'd ever seen. If I recall correctly, she was rather low to the ground. . . (hesitating to call her short). I'm glad she enjoyed so many years of happiness and love with Yvonne and everyone who knew her.
Nita, so sorry for your loss. :ghug:

Oh Nita. So sorry to hear of your loss.
My deepest sympathies to all those grieving the loss of such a special and pretty sheepie! Thanks to Wild Angel's Mom for failing foster 101 and giving her a wonderful home. RIP sweet girl.
Kiss my Bella for me Angel...you are both missed terribly.
