does anyone else's dog

try to chase a tail that isn't there? :cow:

Cambridge has been doing this today and it is cracking me up.

I haven't the :hearts: to tell him there isn't anything there!!

He may have worms. :lmt:
I doubt it. He's had all his de-wormings and does not butt scoot at all.

He literally looked behind him yesterday and wanted to see what was on his other end
and kept walking in circles. Did it twice yesterday. Not for long periods of time and just went
back to playing afterwards.
He may be developing anal gland problems. Or a hanging dingleberry. Or he feels the need to groom this newly found location but can't quite get there.

When mine would get this way, I'd take them aside and give then a complete butt rub including up on the scar. This seemed to calm them down.

In mean time feel free to enjoy the show for a bit before rescuing them.
so- I'm thinking I should have posted this in antics. It was just
something funny I wanted to share. Not a behavior issue.

when he tries to get his tail he isn't running crazed all over- just looking
and then trying to reach it, which in turn makes him turn in a circle.

he doesn't have any poop stuck, no issues back there - just silly puppy fun
Guess he wonders who is following so close behind.
:-)

Chewie only chases a tail I apply - he was a black cat for Halloween a couple yrs ago, and he was determined to get rid of the tail I put on him!
I bet he did want it off! Would have to be a weird feeling for him!
Chowder chases it once in a awhile. More when she was smaller. It was funny!
Kenny has done it a few times and it's hilarious. Then he stops and doesnt do again for a few weeks haha.
Cambridge hasn't done it again since I posted about it.
I do wish he get the jumping that most OESs have.
I have to keep putting him up and down off the beds!

You're evil...

Only tail chaser here is my rescue dog as she's the only one who has one, a two inch stub, and it itches some times and drives her crazy.

How to set off Archie chasing his tail?

"Archie - Where's your tail?"

It's almost like it's a complete shock and he's never seen it before :excited:
I'm pleased Kenz has a tail to chase - its such a beautiful tail!

Nik :)
