When will Kim learn to groom or absolve David of all household duties so he can spend all his time at home grooming Mady and the puppy! :sidestep:

Now that picture almost sells the idea. Except that those are not puppies and puppies are jerks, remember??

Thought was changed to "Husbands are Jerks"!  8)
but YOUR puppy is not a jerk. not sure about hubby, as I've never met him (sorry David) - but I have read enough about Mady the angel to know a second puppy would be so fun for her!!
:tree: = :wag:
The daily discussion in our household as to whether or not we could or should get another dog is insane. I swear most people don't discuss having a second BABY this much!! Can we love another dog as much? Will Mady lose out if she has to share our time and attention with another? What other aspects of life will have to be sacrificed to have a second, because the extra grooming time will have to be found? Can we financially afford a second? Will we have to get a different vehicle? Etc. etc. At least I know that, if we do get another dog, it won't be on a whim.
well, let me help out

just like people with 2 kids, YES you can love them both

YES you will have enough time for both

I actually HAD to get Cooper another dog after we rehomed Grace because
I saw how happy he was to have another 4 legged friend

money? you already have all the supplies, so it's just double food and then
vet stuff and insurance.... I can't answer that one for you

different vehicle.... can't answer that one either, but I imagine 2 humans in front
2 sheepies in back

age wise, you are at an ideal time. Mady is trained and can help the puppy. And still young enough to enjoy playing.

now, go chew on that for awhile!

We have two Sheepies and a Golden.

I groom them, except for nails. I spend one evening a week, sitting in front of the TV combing them out (yes, no grooming table).

Last Spring, I got an SUV. I used to take all three dogs around DFW in my Mustang - they all sat in the back (shaking head). We used my husband's SUV for longer trips. Now that we go to the lake house most weekends, I needed the SUV. I miss my Mustang though.

Expense. We do not have pet insurance. We have been putting money aside each money for over 15 years. This is what we use to buy their food and pay vet bills. I have also borrowed money (and repaid it) from this account. We finally upped the amount we put back each month just 2 years ago. We consider it entertainment.

I will never have less than two dogs.
:lmt: :lmt: :lmt:
oooooohhhhhhh. that seems like you are a little bit closer!!!! :clappurple:
It is my sad duty to inform you all that no, we will not be getting a puppy this year. Sorry.

Mady will remain an only dog for Christmas. :tree:

ba humbug.

well, better luck next year Mady!

Mady may decide to go on strike or she may jump ship if you don't get her a puppy.
You never can tell what she might do if she doesn't get her Christmas Wish.

:lmt:

Cloud thinks David is really mean as Mady has told Cloud that she needs a little brother (or sister). Poor poor Mady
We are all hoping that Mady gets that puppy that she so well deserves. New Year's sounds great to me, wonderful way to start the new year.
Mady played with a Great Dane puppy at the park today. It was a very very cute puppy. It was from Russia and was grey with black spots and all feet! Then this 9 month old Russian wolf terrier (never heard of the breed, but he was bigger than Mady and cute as a bug) showed up. Then a mixed German Shepherd/husky puppy arrived. It was puppy day at the park!
kim,
what did mady have to say about her day then? where was david?

:wag: ----------this is what puppy should look like in case u forgot. :santa:
There's been puppy fever at my work. Four people in my immediate vicinity all got puppies within two weeks. 8O
Photos are flying around and discussions abound.

I must not succumb we hardly fit the two big dogs we have in our small house.
Mady Gigi here. So sorry that there will not be a Christmas pup for you. Gee your parents seemed like good uprights.
