One Year ago today....

I made that tearful and heart-wrenching decision to let my Lucy Blue go to the Rainbow Bridge. She had just celebrated her 15 year old birthday on October 24, 2010 and just about one month later, she was gone. She was healthy her whole life until about age 12 when she started to slow down and we began to give her rimadyl. Other then "old age" she had nothing wrong with her, and I consider us very lucky. We didn't get her from a special breeder... Nope.... She was purchased in 1995 by my sister at a mall pet-store bec/ she looked at the dogs and there was this little white and black fluff-ball sitting in a small cage at 8 weeks old. She was going to be my sister's dog and live in New York City.... Well, that never happened and my parents kept Lucy. Eventually, my parents moved to Florida to retire, and then I took her as my own. I haven't posted much about Lucy in these threads since I started on here when we got Dahlia. But, Lucy was my world. She will forever be remembered. She had a love of life and she had a love for her monkey stuffed animal. For many years, she carried this monkey around as her baby. She would even put the monkey to bed every night. She also had a love of socks. She would never chew them, but, she would carefully carry them around and then bury them in the furniture, using her nose to nuzzle them. We would find socks everywhere. She would take clean ones, dirty ones, small ones, big ones.... it didn't matter. She knew it was a sock.
I miss her so much, but, I know she had a wonderful life and she brought joy to so many people.
I think about her every day, but, today especially, I miss her and I remember a year ago......

I am sure sorry for your grief and I can understand why she "was your world". What a pretty girl and with the sweet antics you've described had a wonderful personality.

She looks very cuddly and sweet in the pictures and I'm sure you do miss her terribly.

I wish you great comfort! And I hope you remember more memories that give you smiles.

Isn't it amazing how a little white and black fluff-ball can change your life forever.
