Cincinnati Reindog Parade

This year Reindog parade in Mt. Adams will be held on Dec. 10th . Registration starts at 12:45, parade is at 2:00. Hope more can attend this year.

A lot of the bars open up to the canines and humans before and after the parade.

Yay!
Schubert and I will be there~ :) :santa:
Zoey & Caitlyn have already announced that their holiday spirit will be on strike if they aren't taken. So... We'll be there.

Vance and Jen
That sounds like fun! Take lots of pictures!

Cindy
If the bars are open to canines and humans, how is it determined who the designated drivers are? :lmt: Just askin.....................
Hoping to be there again this year! :wag:
NOOOOOO!!!! I'll be in Europe for a ski trip (not necessarily a reason to be sad) but bummed we'll miss this :(

Olive and I will be there along with Debbie and Sierra - thank you for the reminder.
Carley said she missed the last "get together" she does not intend to miss this one. Since she can't drive the van I guess that meeans that we are taking her. See you there. Are we all meeting somewhere?

We just meet up at the parade. It is pretty easy to see each other. The parade is located at 1055 St. Paul Place

Hope to see a few more sheepies this year.
that sounds like SO much fun! I know my son Hezekiah would love it! we have family near Cincinnati, I wonder if we could visit them next year and attend!

Finding others with Old English Sheepdogs is easy, parking is the tricky part. We've had good luck the past couple of years by getting there really early before the parking garage is filled. Otherwise the options are very limited.

The bar idea sounds better than freezing with a tailgate party. Anyone wanting to carpool could meet in the Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse parking lot, too.
Last year Doug and myself went to the Wine store at 1101 St.Gregory St. It was 1 block down from the parade. We got there at 12:00 and had no problem getting in the one and only pay garage in Mt. Adams.
That's the old WLW building, right? I've only been in Mt Adams once and it was there. I won a diamond ring in a radio contest! Jen got a REALLY nice gift that year for Christmas...

Vance
The parade gathers at the Monastery. You can't miss it, just follow the dogs and people in crazy Christmas costumes. :tree:
We'll be there!
Nancy, Chuck, Phoebe, Winston and Kippy
Can we try and get a head count for next Saturday? :tree:

I just saw that there is a 20% percent chance of snow.

Not good on those Mt. Adams' streets.

Those streets are hard to get up in good weather! :headbang:

Hoping to be there with Nelson if the weather is tolerable! Maybe we should carpool from Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse again?
Looking at the predicted weather I am now saying we hope to be there. If it is too cold or snowy I won't be able to stay out in it. I hope it is OK out. We are really looking forward to it.
:(
So far, according to weather.com, it will be sunny but cold.

That's good news.
Any set plans to meet up before hand? I'd like to get some stead-fast times and locations; Jen is a real stickler for details like this. Also, are there and fees or donations? I need to be sure to bring cash if needed.

Vance
We will be at The Wine Cellar around 12:30. If you do not get there early it is hard to find a parking place. There is only 1 parking garage and parking at the Art museum. There is also parking at Eden park , however that is a long uphill walk to the parade. Donations all fund our local SPCA. If you pm me I will give you our cell # to meet up.

Erin
I saw on the Cincinnati SPCA website that they'll be having microchips for only $10. If anyone doesn't already have one, here's a good opportunity to get on CHEAP!

Vance
Thanks for posting that. I never noticed that on the site.

Erin
Carley is going to be mad at us but we have to miss it. We had a death in the family and I now have bronchitis. I am not allowed to get out in the cold air.
Everyone have a wonderful time and take lots of pictures.
:( :( :( for us :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: for all of you.
Quick post - we had a great time!!! I only took a couple pics as I was having way too much fun and just forgot! Hopefully someone else in our group got some.

We will be back next year!

So sorry we missed the parade - we got as far as Florence KY and hit a back up of miles and miles bumper to bumper barely moving. At 1:45 we hardly moved so pulled off an exit, had lunch and then headed back to Louisville. We were so disappointed, but look forward to it next year.

Denise & Olive and Debbie & Sierra
Denise, we looked for you! So sorry to hear that traffic was such a mess.
Here are the few photos I took yesterday.

The first two are in the Wine Cellar. This is where we gathered before the parade. In these photos are Gertie, Winston, Phoebe, Schubert, Zoey and somewhere in back is Kippy hiding. Caitlyn wasn't in these as she was at my feet.

This is Emma. She had more bows than all the presents UNDER the tree!

I don't know about everyone else's Sheepie, but our two were wiped out afterwords. Here is how Zoey spent a good part of the hour drive home in the car - mostly because Caitlyn was hogging the whole back seat!

Vance
Looks like everyone had a great time. I want to be there next year.
Carley says she may never forgive us.
:( :(

:wag: :wag:
Looks like a great showing of sheepies for the parade!
Very nice! Looks like a good crowd :D :D
love the pic of Emma. Christmas present wrapping gone amiss???? :excited: I wish there were more pics of her she looks so cute and just what I would want to unwrap for Christmas. :yay:
