Brrrr, is right! This is just October!!! Crazy weather. Sounds like a good night to cuddle up with a sheepie blanket 8)
Our football team played at Rudgers today in a snow storm! A fan built a snowman in the stands, and it made national TV! Hilarious!!!
My husband was watching that game on TV I think! And yes, he was curled up on the couch, foreplace on, surrounded by two HUGE sheepie blankets!!!!
Crazy storm.......same one that was in Colorado earlier in the week. Noreaster this early!! Lots of power outtages, tree limbs breaking..........bad way to start a winter there.

We remain sunny and dry.....could be our winter again this year, dry, dry, dry.
Definitely crazy weather.
Storms east, storms west...and we can't get a drop of moisture in any form!

It's been about mid July when we got rain. That is highly unusual for us in MN to be this dry. We are usually wet and green into the fall.
Instead we've been dry, brown, dead everything even before it froze. The ground is like concrete, and huge cracks in the soil. :(
Dawn, I usually rely on you to tell me what the weather is going to be...but we've had rain, I've got mushrooms in the backyard.

We are in this weird dry pocket. :? 1-2 hours drive any direction around us and it's normal weather. Their grass is green, all that.
We are still in burning bans and all that. Kind of scary when you aren't used to this.
Oh, boy! The size of those snowflakes! Mind blowing!

Trick-or-treating today was miserable. People stayed home, warm and dry. Barely a handful of kids were going door to door. My two were totally overjoyed by the combination of Trick-or-treating and snow, they had hard time waiting for 6:00PM :)
Hi Diane,
I am in lower Westchester County, not that far from you, and my husband I I just finished shoveling 8+" of snow and cleaning off our cars. Ridiculous in Oct. My parents live at the end of the North Fork and just got rain. I envy them! We have lots of trees down and lots of power out. This is one heck of a start of winter and winter is still almost two months away! The only ones loving this weather are Dudley and Oscar. They are in and out playing in the snow!
Kathie
This type of snow melts quickly. In a few days you'll be up to 50s with only memories...and broken tree branches
Dawn,
I'm surprised you guys are that dry. Send some of that this way.
It seems like it's been raining non-stop for a month.
Like Pam, I also have mushrooms growing in the backyard.

And we were spared the big Halloween Nor'easter here in CNY. Thank God.
I am not ready yet. I still have to tuck two vehicles away for the winter.
Kathie, I know where your parents are and yes, they only got some rain...I live about an hour or so west of them and got mostly rain, mixed with some snowy sleet stuff...Let me know when you are visiting your parents...You can stop here on the way and our sheepies can play!!! I am in Bay Shore, Suffolk County...south of Montauk, by the water....
Well we still have snow on the ground. We really got nailed.
Still no power here, I'm on generator right now. I'm seriously
thinking about a permanent solution to this power outage
thing. If someone spits too close to a pole around here we lose
power. God forbid we have 15 mph winds (or more)
I know this is a small price to pay for living in the country, but
this is really starting to bother me.
Bad enough that it's so darned cold on Halloween, but with the
power out I haven't finished my boy's costume... I think I'm hand
sewing now........

It's made the news here in the UK. Looks dreadful out there, please take care everyone :ghug:
There was a lady interviewed on the news who I thought was Dawn for a second, I even looked for Chewie

We are enjoying a very mild autumn, but apparently we are due snow in November which is a little early for south England.

LOL - nope, not us. I WISH we would get snow - any moisture in any form would be a blessing. :plead:
There were rain bands passing yesterday, but all we got was a drippy mist that settled the dust on the gravel roads a few hours. :?
Dawn,
Just read in the paper today that with this past weekend's storm we now have the 3rd wettest year on record. Over 65" of rain. I would be more than happy to send some that your way, if I could figure out how.

I am seriously considering mushroom farming!

Kathie
The result of all that early snow: two broken trees, two cute snowmen, a fun snowball fight, and a load of candy that the scaredy trick-or-treaters missed to take while staying home, away from the snow.

Plus, it makes it easier to see the poop, as opposed to when you have to spot it among the fallen leafs :)
:D Everything is very dry in the BC Interior. We had snow flurries today but they didn't amount to much. As I've cleaned the garden I had the hose running. The ground was either powder or cement. :o
Kathie - send it to me, please!

I have plants to get in before winter and I'm running out of time. I keep hoping it will rain any day..... :plead:
Stay safe! We saw it on the news as well.
