halloween lights 2011

This one is for you all that sent me lots of messages stating you wanted to see the NBC song from the movie. Oh, dont mind my girl running out of the house...I didnt notice until after I was done filming.

2011 Halloween Light Show -- This Is Halloween from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
4 singing pumpkin faces, tombstones, hand carved pumpkins, strobes, floods and thousands of lights. Most all lights have been changed from incandescent to RGB LED so power consumption is a lot less than previous years. Also DMX added to show. All lights, faces and props are custom made (DIY) by me except for the roof line which are CCRs. Controlling channels have gone up 8X from last year. 1144 channels. Light-O-Rama. Riverside, CA

My thoughts too!
It looks like they live in a pretty tight housing area (with the short driveways seen in housing developments)...I wonder how often they run it?? 8O

It really is well done though! :cheer:
Riverside resident Kevin Judd may not be getting any royalties for his spectacular "Halloween Light Show 2011," which has racked up more than 5.3 million hits on YouTube, but he did get a visit from the band LMFAO, whose song "Party Rock Anthem," is the show's backdrop.

A YouTube video of Judd’s house, with pumpkins singing and neon lights flashing, has become a viral Internet hit. And last week, Judd found out LMFAO is among the enthusiastic fans.

The chart-topping pop group arrived Sunday to shoot a Kia commercial and perform their trademark shuffle on Judd's driveway.

"The guys were really interested in how I created the show," Judd said. "I shared a beer with Sky Blu."

Judd said the group signed autographs and took pictures with the whole family, including his 6- and 10-year-old kids. And although he announced online that the show was canceled for Sunday, the usual 2,000 people showed up, and in some cases, stood on cars and the neighbor’s lawn to get a good view.

"The neighbors might be a little upset now," Judd said. "I think they just want it to go away."
And now that Halloween has arrived, it will.

Judd said he would start attacking his lawn Monday, and take decorations off the wall soon afterward. For the last week, hundreds and often thousands of people have packed his street for the light show. On Saturday, so many people arrived early that Judd ran two shows with around 2,000 people each.

"I definitely need a break," he said with a laugh.

Overall, Judd said he thought his 60-plus hours of work setting up the display was worth it, though he said he wishes YouTube would share their ad revenue to help pay for his “hobby.”

"What's troubling are people are stealing money," he said, adding that so far YouTube has denied a partnership. "My video has been posted on other people’s YouTube [accounts], and they’re collecting money on it."

But that doesn’t mean he’ll stop. By March, he thinks he'll have ideas for next October.

He was clear one one point: He's taking Christmas off.

"There's a guy who does a great Christmas thing down the street," he said. "Let people bombard his house."

...says the guy who used copyrighted music as the basis for his video without royalty payment to the band...

He's fortunate they have a sense of humor or good taste about it, and decided to make use of it in their own way. I doubt they would be so magnanimous if he earned $100,000 from the video, but who knows.

It IS a great Halloween display!! :D
