Chewing shoes

Chowder will be 2 years old just before new years. She did not chew what she was not supposed to as a puppy as we always provided her with bully sticks, treat balls, chew toys, etc. Once ever did she chew a show, maybe at 4/5 months, we said no, took it from her, and replaced it with one of the aforementioned acceptable chew toys. We are NOT organized people and shoes have been left out the entire time without a problem.

Fast forward to last week where she chewed a heel off a shoe. Early this week I found laces tighter than normal, and today a heel on flat very wet and somewhat broken.

What happened?! How come now? She's not a puppy anymore!

There is something about shoes, socks and anything feet that dogs seem to be attracted to...Puppy or not, you need to keep those items away from your puppy/dog! They will chew out of boredome if alone, stress or just because shoes and human feet smeel appealling to them!

I found the best detterent is to keep my house extremely neat and everything put away!
Schubert loves shoes!!!!!
He especially loves the ugg slippers....
We always use the "drop it" and "leave it" commands with shoes and socks...
thank god he loves kibbles and treats more!!!
moes a big fan of uggs too..he also is a fan of my work shoes and underwear if the hamper is not closed..only my stuff ..not hubbys..he now mostly grabs them and runs off because he wants to play chase..we have almost broken him of this..but sometimes.it is just soo cute like mom..mom..come play. I have become a much neater homeowner since Moes arrival..now the only stuff left around are dog toys :yay:
We have a shoe shelf in the passage. Bloo will run off in the garden with slippers, trainers, boots EVERYTHING!!! Ill go out to get them off him and he turns to mad crazy og, and runs all about the place. Eventually he drops and i take it off him. I found moms ugg boot in the garden last week with the botom ripped off! Luckily these shoes are never worn, we keep the best in wardrobe hehe...

He has a habit of jumping on the wall and pulling all the washing off the washing line and putting the all over the grass!!! Then burys or eats the pegs! :(
Your not the only one :) Bloo is a very naugty puppy :D
