Halloween

What are you doing for Halloween?

We're invited to a party. No costume ideas are resonating. I think Halloween is for the little kids. But my friend LOVES Halloween and it would really disappoint her if we didn't attend her party.

Is anyone dressing up for Halloween? Maybe I can copy your costume? Anyone have any fun plans? Taking kids trick or treating? Giving out candy to Trick or Treaters? Dressing up your sheepie? (Pictures necessary)

My husband, "the big kid" loves handing out candy so we'll be doing that again as well. We get quite a lot of trick or treaters. I think we have a reputation for handing out good candy

Halloween is one of my favorte holidays. When I had kids at home we would start planning Halloween costumes in September and I made a number of them. With my oldest Granddaughter Jenah, I used to get the Lillian Vernon Halloween catalog and let her pick out which ever costume she wanted and I would order it for her. It was her dream come true. I really do miss those days.I love giving out candy and seeing the excitement on all the kids faces....even the older once who showed up at my door. We now live out in the country and the houses are spread out, so no trick or treaters. I still decorate, and we'll do something special...haven't decided what yet. They do have a huge block party in downtown Melbourne I'm thinking of going to. Anyway, I still love Halloween!
I can't wait for halloween!! I also love passing out candy! The boys will be batman and superman. I'm just hoping it's still not 90 when they have to get in their costumes.

The girls will be tinkerbell and a fairy. They wore their costumes at disney world already, so here's a visual ...minus they don't have their accessories on.

Super cute girlies!

We get no trick or treaters out by our house. :(
We used to always go to a barn party at Todd's brother's house, (and costumes required!), but they haven't done it for the last several years :( :(
OK Mrs. J, time to post pix of all four together. Wow, #3 looks like #1........I've gotten their names all mixed up..........Jillybean looks like Little J (?)

However, The Paw has a huge party, so Chewie and I will go in costume again. We were a witch (me) and black cat (Chewie)....need to start planning, or it will be a repeat!

(He had a tail too)
Cute costumes, cute kids.
Maybe Mrs. J has extra costumes, you and Chewie could go as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. :P
OK, you can be Capt Hook if you don't have green tights.
:)

Dawn, your daughters look SO MUCH like you. I had to do a double take because at first, I thought you were LeAnne
im dressing up as a witch. I bought bloo a vampire cape too!!!

You could take a hint from the Addams family: "I'm dressed as a homicidal maniac. We look just like everyone else."

Have fun a the party, whatever your costume!
Mark & I went to a halloween party a few years back. I sewed our costumes. We were Minny & Mickey Mouse. Sure easy costume to throw together. I used red fabric with white polka dots for bows on my shiny tap shoes, and a big bow between my mouse ears. Mark's shoes were patent leather and several sizes too big.
We had fun!

Love the photos of the girls!

I wish I could! Halloween is my all time fav holiday but sadly I have to work this yr.

I had several costume idea's this yr.

Lucy and Ricky Ricardo (couples costume) Im a redhead and my fiance is dark skinned. Perfect!

Sara from the Labyrinth and Lily would be ambrosius with a little sir didymus doll riding her. For this one now I have to wait til she is in coat again, maybe next yr. (this one is good for pretty much any woman on this website)

Maryann from gilligan's Island (this one was not my choice, my friends bday is the day before Halloween and she like all of us to do a theme at least one day out of the weekend)

One yr a local bar threw a Zombie prom. Zombies are easy easy costumes to make. (I was named zombie prom queen) They had prom pictures and everything. My fiance wasn't happy that he didnt win zombie prom king, his step bro did.

This is me and my fiance's Zombie prom photo (winning included a black bouquet and a crown)

For the blood just good old karo syrup (it gets sticky but will wash out of anything) and food coloring, rip old clothes and for bruises yellow, blue, purple and brown eyeshadow and hairspray over it to keep it from smearing. The bite marks and gunshot wounds were a little bit more tricky. I used gum, moulded, glued and painted them the color of my skin. The ribs sticking out were real rib bones.....I realize I take costumes a little far but I always win.

Fyi Greenish zombies ALWAYS look stupid.
Halloween is on a Minday I believe so I will be working until almost 6 pm and by then its getting dark here so I don't expect too many treaters. I do ahve lots and lots of candy just in case.

I seem to be the oddball...I actually am not a fan of Halloween :| I don't like strangers coming knocking on my door after dark, I don't like the scary costumes and masks either at my door...Maybe I read to many horror books...I do enjoy the kids in their costumes so cute but the older kids, not dressed up, just walking in packs knocking on doors in the dark, ...makes me uneasy..
Its not that big in the UK but its fun & I am not working so I can go to our club party
Since Halloween is not a tradition of the country I come from, I have no childhood memories. Therefore, the main reason I enjoy this holiday is because of the excitement it brings to my girls... I also like walking around the neighborhood and meeting people I rarely see otherwise.
I cannot believe how many houses in my neighbourhood have decorated for Halloween. They start beginning of October. And the decorations are not cheap!

Anyone else notice this in your area?

We have almost an entire street of decorations too ...all came out oct 1st.
