Film on inside of car windows

I know there are some gear heads here (Mark, Vance), along with cleaning gurus. Here's your (my) problem:

My 2010 Toyota Camry (so it's 2 years old) keeps getting a white haze on the front and rear windshields on the INSIDE. I don't smoke in the car. I have cleaned the windows with Windex, non-ammonia windex, vinegar and water, and vinegar, water and touch of ammonia. I've used microfiber towels and paper towels. Haven't tried newspaper yet.

The haze keeps coming back and makes it difficult to see in certain conditions. A quick Google search shows that most think it is from the off-gassing of the vinyl dash.

True or false? And what can I do to clean it, and to keep it from coming back?

Good question Paula! I need the answer too.
I use the edge of a plastic card (like my credit card) to strip the hazy film off. This works well but is only temporary fix.

What is the cause?

Paula,
You've got it exactly right. It is the out-gassing of the plastic & vinyl materials in the vehicle that causes that haze on the windows.
I'm not aware of a way to stop it.
Just have to clean the glass at regular intervals.

As a matter of fact, my Blazer's winshield is getting pretty hazy. Time to clean it. :)
A possible fix would be to leave your windows cracked so as to not allow a build-up of those gases. It should dissipate over time. I'm betting you've had the car long enough to think it should be done by now.

I really hate to say this, but this is a result of the EPA-types requiring less VOCs in paints Ana adhesives. While the low VOCs are great for the environment, It makes these products dry and/or cure faster. Yeah, there has been a lot of good water-based products, but nothing compares to the old school stuff. I know several guys in Cali who go over the border to ARIZONA to buy the paints they can't buy at home; crazy, huh?

Ok, I'm off the soapbox. Call your dealer and calmly question this to see if they can help; you my be surprised...

My Mom has a camry too not a 2010 but probably pretty close. She had to have the windshield completely replaced because it was wavy. There was a defect.

She also has it in the shop as we speak, because the blower for the A/C and heater doesn't deliver the air to actively cool or heat. She's had it in the shop for that problem since she got it and they always tell her it's fine but her car doesn't keep her cool or warm. They gave her a loaner Corolla and the blower was terrific. She told them she won't take it back until it's fixed this time.
I'm cleaning the windshields in shifts today, using a microfiber cloth and non-ammonia glass cleaner. I guess I'll just keep those cleaning tools in the car forever. The side windows don't get this haze.

Las Vegas Sheepie Lover, I've never had a car that blows enough heat in the winter or a/c in the summer. I want the car to be instantly like a meat locker when I turn on the a/c! Wimpy blowers nowadays.
