Check the Volkswagen Jetta Sportswagen out. Neat and with awesome gas mileage (TDI version is 30/42)

Where do you live in the world?
Thanks fairygodmother will look into that!!!

we live in United Kingdom :)
The car mom has at moment is way too small, bloo has to sit in front seat which is really dangerous and could causee an accident and i dont want th=at to happen, so we are desperately looking for a cheap afordable 2nd hand or show room car :P around £8,000 max.
We love our Dodge Caravan but not sure what's available in the UK. There are some members here who live there so maybe they will be better help.
Look for a Skoda Roomster. The guys on Top Gear are even fond of it.

They're mostly a VW under the skin so it should be pretty reliable too.

Jeremy also raved about the Skoda Yeti. I believe he called it the best car ever made.

If I were in the UK, I'd look at both of these very closely!

It's not available in the U.S.
We love our mini cooper clubman. Gets 41-42ish on highway and our two sheepies fit in the back space comfortably :hearts:
I have a Honda Fit. It's amazing for 2 large dogs! Sam gets one side and Nola gets the other. They can both lie down if they want too! Hatchback, and enough room that they can stand upright if they so desire! Great little car, 38.8 mpgs (not sure the conversion to kpg), and after 3 years of ownership absolutely no problems at all! :)

(Now, Honda needs to send me some type of stipend!) :lmt:

i have a volkswagen jetta tdi...diesel....LOVE it!! Panda fits perfectly in the back seat..

if i did my math correctly, i get 46-7 miles to the gallon on the highway, which should be 19.98 kilometer per liter...

we can drive to california on 3/4 of a tank of gas..err petrol..err..diesel...lol
