Heatwave...again!

It is insanely HOT here in Minnesota. 8O

We have been having the craziest weather. In September we had our earliest freeze. So Indian Summer is normal after that...but it's going crazy!

The last 3 days have been low 80's. Actually got to 85 or so yesterday. Now I see we just hit 88 degrees! We broke a record - it was 87 previously.

And sadly we are dry, way too dry. No measurable rain for over 2 months - maybe more. My lawn is dead. My pasture is dead. The fields are too dry - they have been having fires in the cornfields. :(
We are in a fire alert - no burning outdoors at all. And there is a strong wind - so fires will (and have been) spreading rapidly. Fortunately all have been put out - so far. :plead:

I don't want to hear complaining about HEAT or lack of RAIN.

;) ...at least you had a short break of nice cool weather.

We did...and I am glad my furnace isn't running!
It's weird having the dry and heat - with no humidity. Feels like Arizona or something!
I WOULD LOVE the no humidity.

violet tells me that I'll at least get a nice break when we go to Florida. Sigh... can't wait. The weather seems to be at least 6-8 degrees cooler. I'll take anything.
When I log on NOAA twice a day I've been noticing Red Flag warnings for your area, was wondering what was going on, but didn't research it. Give it another day of hot weather, then "gradually" cool off--no actually a 20 degree drop within 3 days... with moisture next week........ :crossed: :crossed:

We had over an inch of rain last night.........realize last "precip year...October to Sept) we had 4.6" total! So last night was a blessing, unless you are here for Balloon Fiesta in which case you got rained out this a.m. Breezy this afternoon which will probably cancel the balloon glows. Snows expected up north tomorrow.

I refuse to admit summer is gone, still wearing sandals and light clothes.
We are cooler then u are Dawn. Everyone has been so excited about our cool down, low 80's. Nice breeze. Lots of people out walking and biking, working on their yards. The conversation in every store.

Nice time for Mrs J and the family to go to see Mickey. :)
We aren't as bad as Dawn but we're working up to it. Suppose to keep getting warming until next week according to the weather report in Milwaukee. Don't know what it's doing at home. We had rain last wk and winds that did some damage but now seems we're in for another dry period. What a year.
Yep its getting warm again :D :D :D

Dawn we are not as dry as you thanks to that low pressure that sat on us for a WEEK and dumped plenty of rain.

Thank you Mother Nature for our warm weather.
It didn't get as hot here but it was about 80 degrees and no humidity so it was beautiful. Supposed to be the same for the next week. I guess you could say we were lucky and had rain every day last week. (I say different because I was on vacation and wasn't happy about all the rain while I was off! This would have been the week to be off!)

I would take this weather all year. I don't like the cold winters. If the cold and snow only lasted a month, that would be good! I don't know how you take those winters up there Dawn! 8O I know you need rain badly up your way and hope you get some after the crops are in.

Cindy
Heck, we celebrated when we got below 90. At 80, people around here were wearing jackets.
It's 88 out and we think it is wonderful weather. It was in the upper 50s this morning - kids were wearing coats.

Our drought is projected to be part of a 10 cycle of drought. Instead of losing hundreds of trees this year in Fort Worth, they are projecting thousands of trees will be lost. Since May, we've gotten a quarter of an inch of rain. November 1st, we go to stage 4 restrictions - that's watering the yard once every two weeks. And they are talking about creating other stages.
Long range winter forecast doesn't look much better for Texas region drought. sorry.
