Bed Buddy

It is getting chilly at night here and I may have to shut the windows within the next month. How do I know it is chilly, afterall I'm snug under my assorted "blankets?" It's Harry insisting he come to bed with me. Up until now his grunts have been told, "No." This morning I gave in, got off the bed and hoisted his every increasing "heaviness" (more likely my ever decreasing muscles) on to the bed. This boy has the damaged ligaments in his back legs so has no bounce.

It was nice having the hairy guy to snuggle against, but also an indication cold weather will come again before another summer. However, I'm not sure I'm willing to share my bed after months of freedom.

How does your house routine change with colder weather?

We definitely have more dogs in the bed as it gets chillier. I have also been known to shave the dogs down and crank the a/c in the summer when I am in need of some cuddles

At my parents house, as it gets colder Walter starts huffing and puffing all day and all night to go outside and lay in the grass/snow. My dad loves when I come home because I get to be the one getting up every 15 minutes to let him out.
no change .. panda gets an hour or so of bedtime...then its me, my 5 pillows and brian...too hot in the summer but perfect in the winter....
Only the cat with us in bed.....and seeing he got sprayed by a skunk AGAIN (3rd time) on Saturday evening, even he is not allowed!

The skunk treatment helped, but he still smells too much to be in bed with us.... :(

And based on the smell, this skunk was right up in the yard, in front of the barn! 8O My watch cat takes his job very seriously.
Bert used to only want to be on the bed in winter, and even then only on really cold nights. He runs really "hot", and even in winter likes to sleep up against a door or window.

This has changed since Gertie moved in  . Gertie likes to sleep not only ON the bed, but down under the covers (all the way down by my feet...I have no idea how she can breath!), and by gosh we cant have the beagle getting a privilege that he doesn't :!: So, he insists now on cuddling up beside me on the bed every night. He's uncomfortable, he's too hot, but he toughs it out for the principle of the thing   . Abby couldn't care less. Goodnight kiss for mama, and she's off to her own comfy bed :) .
Great little foot warmer!
I bet you and Scott will be fighting over your little bed brick pretty soon

The Min Pins were like that too - all the way under the covers...no idea how they were breathing. :lmt:

Weve been calling her the "hot water bottle" Unfortunately, she occasionally decides to apply a VERY cold nose to the bottom of a foot 8O , so Scott has banished her to my side only!
When Tripper, the basset, was young he'd get on the bed usually when I was almost asleep, keep flipping the covers until he got them high enough to suit him and run to the bottom of the bed and that's where he slept.

None of the sheepies really wanted to sleep all night on the bed, too warm I guess. Butchy won't even come in the room, he likes the couch all to himself and if he gets too warm he can sleep on the cooler floor.
Right now we are having fun with four dogs jockeying for position in our bed. My Puddy has always slept with us, when Little Man came along he did too. Since I have "inhereted" my Mom's dogs, they both want to sleep with us too. I have to tell ya that two adults, a sheepdog, a wanna be sheepie, a chocolate lab and a I have no clue, do not fit well in a king size bed. Pud usually concedes the bed to the girls and heads off to the cooler hardwood.

OMG :cow: I thought I'd never see the day when #1 would use "too" in front of "hot"!!!!!!!

Where's that fainting emoticon?
Brick gets in the bed all year round but he's more manageable in the winter cuz he curls up into a ball at the corner of the bed instead of spreading out.
I knew Susan was gonna talk abt sleeping with a sheepie but thought it'd be funny if it was in reference to a boy toy... Who can also easily hairy and warm... :o

Last night for the first time Schubert slept with us on the bed. It was at motel6, we were very emotional from having to evacuate from the bathroom construction that left us no access to a toilet & shower. He loved it and rolled around at the foot of the bed it was very nice :)
Now we want to upgrade our queen to a king mattress
