Fall 2011 TV Season - What are you planning to watch?

The new tv season is starting. Melissa and I watch a lot of tv...too much   8)

I think the season mostly starts next week, but a few things debut this week.

The one new one that M and I have watched the premiere of is Ringer, on The CW. We were big Buffy fans, and had to watch to see Sarah Michelle Gellar. We are identical twins, and we are intrigued by any twins switching places stuff (love The Parent Trap). We never could trade places...so that may be why.

Did anyone watch Ringer?

What new or returning shows are you looking forward to?

There are so many shows that I'm glad are starting their new season next week. My DVR is all set...I keep it set for "first run only". I'm not a great rerun watcher. I watch way too much tv then I ever used too. Anyway, I'm just happy to see the new season beginning.

The CSIs
Grey's Anatomy
Harry's Law
Modern Family
Middle
2 1/2 Men
Mike n Molly
Criminal Minds

No I didn't watch Ringer, still watching the reruns of Mash and Seinfeld until Monday. :)
These are just off the top of my head.
I wish I had some time to watch TV. No, wait...I don't wish that. Because then that would mean I wouldn't have any dogs to groom or train

Quite frankly, none of the ads for fall shows intrigued me. I'm not a fan of TV & have them basically so I can watch the weather channel & DVDs. I prefer a good book
Dcotor Who, of course. Did you see the episode 2 weeks ago about the kid and the monsters in the cupboard? Even I was scared.

Project Runway. I can't stand this group of designers but I'm drawn to it like a moth to a flame.

Top Gear. British version only, please.

Eagerly waiting for the season premier of The Mentalist.

Big Bang Theory.

So no new shows, just old faves. I see commercials for a new show and think "that would be interesting" then I forget to watch!
I love fall for new tv too.....

I can't wait for Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Heartland, House, Big Bang Theory, Dexter, Fringe, Two and a Half Men, American Idol, Harry's Law and Survivor which started last night.
I haven't watched Survivor yet, I download everything and watch it usually the next day or whenever I have time.
I've been downloading every episode of True Blood too but haven't watched a single episode of season 4 yet, going to watch them all at once or at least over the course of a few days.
Amanda, what did you think of Ringer? I loved Buffy too and am downloading Ringer now.... hopefully I'll have time to watch it after work tonight.

Very good point...we keep out sheepie short for the most part...and she is the biggest couch potato in the family

Melissa does get a lot of reading time in. She works in Chicago and is on the train 2 hours each day. She reads the newspaper and books during her commute :high5: I try to read a few days a week during my lunch hour.
I watch very little network TV.

One that caught my interest of the new shows is Pan Am....I may give that one a try.

Usually I have HGTV , the weather channel, some nature/history/nat geo type on in the background when I'm home. Todd does the movie channels and sci-fi, history and stuff like Family Guy, and that type.

We liked it. A lot of potential and not really a "CW" show...meaning I don't feel like I'm watching a teen show. It still has that fun/soapy/drama thing going, though.

The set up is good, and I really hope they keep the story moving...it's keeping it spot on the Tivo, for now :D

Dolls and kids giggling are always creepy

Last weeks episode with Amy stuck in that facility was sooo sad....they are really bringing the drama this season.
Fringe is our number one favorite here, the house stops for an episode! We also enjoy Harry's Law and Modern Family. I'm curious about 2 and 1/2 Men this season too. Did I mention Fringe???
We don't even have cable TV. Both my hubby and I think that there's no reason to pay $$$ someone for waisting our time. Being working parents, we anyways have to stay too long away from each other and the kids, so we prefer dedicating as much of our free time to our family as possible.

We watch little antenna broadcasted TV, with So You Think You Can Dance as our first choice, American Idol is second. We would occasionally watch Glee, House, and Fringe.

Quite few of the shows we totally cannot relate to and borderline dislike (especially Family Guy and similar). I would have loved to have Discovery and NatGeo channels exclusively but no cable company would sell us a package like that... So we won't get cable or dish TV.

We get most of our news from Europe (via Internet) because local news is literally local. Even then we don't sit down to watch, we mostly listen to the TV while doing chores.

Yes, we do watch movies, mostly via Netflix.

So, to summarize, I'm looking forward to watching the new seasons of SYTYCD and AI.

We are the same as Dawn's household.
We dont have either broadcast or cable TV...but we watch a lot on DVD. So, I am a year behind

Our faves are:
Dr Who
NCIS
NCIS LA
Dexter
Being Human(the BBC version)
CSI(Vegas)

And, while I know its not coming soon...I am desperate for the next BBC Sherlock series!
I watch very litte TV too. I didn't even own a TV for about 10 years while I was single 8O My husband made me get one when we started dating...

BUT I do like 2 and a half men...when does that start? And I like the cooking channel  Kind of funny for someone who hasn't had a kitchen in almost 6 months!
The only TV I seem to watch anymore is Discovery, DIY and HGTV. I'm a hardcore Deadliest Catch fan. And there's something sexy about a woman swinging a hammer or handling a power tool...

But I spend most of my TV time watching BBC America. I'm a Top Gear junkie. I watch nearly every episode anytime its on and still laugh like it's the first time I saw it. The Brits know humor better than anyone. For that, I even watch The Graham Norton Show and almost any sitcom they air.

I really like to watch the BBC news because it's not biased and straightforward, like all the American news outlets would like us to think they are...

Oooooh I forgot to mention Hell's Kitchen.... LOVE that show.... anyone else watching it?
I miss watching Deadliest Catch. We dropped the fancy cable, as we just don't watch enough television to be worth the cost, but I did enjoy that show.
Todd's a diehard Deadliest Catch watcher - I enjoy it too.

I haven't watched Hells Kitchen lately, but do like it.

I like the BBC news too..... DIY too...
How have those two boys done, since the death of their father. The one boy had addiction issues and last I saw they fired their captain.

They got second new captain who they work well with and did great during Opies season. They seem to be doing pretty good. We'll see come next March for sure.

I wish that you could just get a cable package with the few channels you do watch. I miss the History Channel and Discovery, but I hated paying for all the other channels that I don't watch.
I love Being Human... The BBC America version. Am a big fan of BBC America in general. Amanda and I have been watching The Hour also. It is really interesting to see a show with a historical event unfolding from a different point of view..(not American).

I'm with you Kim, wish I could pick and choose the stations I want rather than pay for a whole bunch I don't watch to get the ones I really want.

Man, I missed that one, too. I don't watch each episode but find it entertaining and would work out though it with ease.
