Snow??!

Apparently it snowed this morning in parts of Manitoba and most likely will snow tonight in Ontario.... I've been so sick of the heat this cool down is very welcome for me :) It won't quite get cold enough to snow where I am, only supposed to go down to 8-10 celcius but a few hours north it's supposed to be -3 by morning! 8O

I welcome the cool. We took our pool down Saturday.
So it can snow.

Lisa Frankie and Mattie
We are in a freeze warning for tomorrow night. No frost - hard-core freeze!
Right now they are predicting 28 degrees. :?
My tomatoes are JUST getting ripe....lots of covering to do
Pleeease... can I have your weather when you're done with it?
It's Ragweed season for Darby and she would welcome a weed killing freeze!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhsh that talk! Or keep it up your way. Bad enough it's dark when I get home and it's only mid September.

Absolutely, positively NO SNOW. Or cold. For at least two more months. Some people have to drive in that stuff you know.
What's snow :lmt: A rare event and even though we live in the southern states and want to see and play in that icky white mushy freezing stuff we have to travel!!!! Psst sheepie kids only about two times in that frozen white stuff and one would not even get out of the truck, ewwwww wet cold and I can hold on till the cows come home rather then get my paws cold and wet!!! :P

Now hate to tell you stacey, spring has sprung, sunny days and still coolish nights, GAWD I love this time of year. :P
I saw snow on weather report this morning and it just all seems so early.

We may or may not get frost tonight so things will be covered. Our tomatoes and things are just about done but will pick what's ripe and hope it makes it the next couple of nights. Suppose to be upper 70's again this weekend, what a summer.
Oh Dawn, what a shame. Hope this is just a freak freeze and you'll have a nice Indian Summer and get tomatoes!

Here it is State Fair which means.......rain, or actually dribbles. Anything is welcome. The Balloon Fiesta......we usually get some rain then too, poor ballooners. One year we got snow! Don't want to see that........not until Dec or Jan.....or Feb.
Yes, it's just supposed to be tonight. So very early - 3 weeks earlier than the average killing freeze. :(
and tomorrow's high just 57.

But then a rebound and no freezes and daytime highs in the 70's for at least the next week.
So it will be worth it to cover the veggies and some flowers.
Zoey LOOOOVES the white stuff!!! She says bring it on!! I can't wait to see how Caitlyn deals with it. I'll bet she'll like it as much as her big sis.

Windows open?? It's only 57 and really windy here! 8O
Nice and sunny though
57 isn't cold! When it goes into the 30's & 40's tonight my windows will still be open. 60's during the day is perfect weather. :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
No, 57 isn't low but when you've had nothing but hot, humid and dry. I know that doesn't make sense, humid and dry but that's the way it's been. That makes 57 chilly, then going back up in the upper 70's so can't adjust to anything.

Fall is really my favorite season but love the nice fall days not the up and down.
whaaaat? I can't believe it. Snow already.....
With a new puppy and all, we're looking forward to some winter fun.
Snow?!? Its 95 degrees here today!!!

I was looking at the weather, and saw that the Upper Midwest region of the US is going to get s sharp decline in temperature soon. Just in time for us to go and visit Minnesota. I'm glad I just bought several new sweaters!!!

Well not THAT cold. Except maybe evening and early am.
Forecast is highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's. That's still nice weather!
I prefer the cooler weather and I actually like Snow! I just hate the shoveling part and having to get to work on time...

Snow brings nice cool, crisp air...dogs love it...I get to wear my sweatpants and sweatshirt and muffy slippers...and we eat lots of Chili and fun casserol dinners with the fireplace on...love, love love the cool months!
We had hail here yesterday for about ten minutes. The ground was covered in white stuff.
41 F and droppppiinnnggg.......

Got my tomato and pepper plants covered....hope it's enough!
I love snow too, and with us working from home, there's not much need to shovel. We had a snow storm last year followed by an ice storm, and our whole street was iced in for a full week. Most people went stir crazy- I was thrilled!!!
The mountains are already white here

My only wish is that the leaves all get a chance to fall before the 1st snow...otherwise we get lots of broken branches and downed trees 8O .
Well, we had our freeze :(

It looks like everything I covered is ok though. :)

Todd is working seasonally for Birds Eye (the vegetable company) doing the sweet corn harvest. I asked him what they do if the corn freezes. They have 72 hours to harvest any frozen crops - then it starts to have sugar breakdown and ferments.
They can only get to so many fields in the next 72 hours, so some farmers are going to be out of luck.

This killing freeze is 3 weeks earlier than the average freeze. :(
We covered, didn't freeze here last night but tonight looks like we may get it. Early here too so sure that will affect crop prices again.

We have frost warning for tonite. I asked dh for some help in covering up my tomato and pepper plants. I was wondering if I had to tuck them in and sing a good night song too.

But gets REALLY pissed farmers who don't get picked..... :cow:
Well it went down to 0 (32f) but no snow lol
I'm heading north today to the Midland area to go horseback riding and then south this afternoon to Brampton to visit my mother so I've packed two lighter coats and am wearing a warm one to start with lol.
