A plea to the Agility Gods

Please take pity on us :plead:

I am so discouraged.

2011 has been a very unrewarding Agility year for Team Harrington.
We have worked so hard and really improved over last year.
We will always have set backs with our poor foundation and my high drive, impulse control challenged dog but we keep trying......and trying.....and trying.....and trying......and cheering others on.........and congratulating them.....and trying.......and trying.

We don't even give up when the run goes awry. We just push forward and try to complete it as clean as possible.

We just can't seem to catch a break that some lesser handlers and dogs seem to catch.

For an impatient person, I have been more than patient and a good sport when my heart is breaking.

We have not qualified in Agility since October of last year.

:plead: :plead: :plead: :plead: :plead: :plead: :plead: :plead: :plead: :plead: :plead: :plead: :plead: :plead:

I just need a little reinforcement for our efforts. :plead:

If anyone out there wants to send us good vibes today between 1:00 and 4:00 central time, it would be much appreciated.

Judi and Harry, HUGE, HUGE vibes coming your way. It is currently 12:40 so I can't talk to you, you should be on your way.

Harry, listen to your Mommy, she knows best and she works so hard with you that you OWE this to her.

GO TEAM HARRINGTON :yay: :yay: :yay:    :yay: :yay: :yay:   :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited:

Don't get discouraged it will come.
Go Harry and Judi!! We are cheering you on. Keep your focus, patience and good humour and it will all fall into place. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Thanks for the good vibes.....sadly we are still on a losing streak. :(

He was totally crazed his first run ...

His second run was great but we dropped a bar early on and he is NOT collecting for his weaves.

Hubby has to do his draft picks so I will upload Harry's videos from today later.

I did say something to the judge as we were walking into the ring for our last run of the weekend about being on an eleven month losing streak and she said had a fourteen month losing streak with a velcro dog that turned high drive.
:ghug: :ghug:

Good vibes from me and Heart...for next time!!!!!
Well, look on the bright side. Next time Harry qualifies (and he will) you will be soooooooo happy!!!!

Sending good vibes for next time. :wag:
Judi - you know I admire your perserverance, but you can't go that long without a Q and not have it affect your confidence. Why not go do some agility in another venue so you can pop back in novice, or do a trial of novice perferred (I think you'd prefer another venue that has games though), so you can get some positive reinforcement for a change of pace?

Everybody needs some positive reinforcment. Right now you're :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: and that has got to be detrimental to your state of mind. If Harry was struggling with something you'd take a step back and make it easier for him to succeed so that he could move forward again with confidence. Why not be as nice to yourself? You deserve it :ghug:

I wish we lived closer. I'm doing USDAA next month for fun. Last time out I ran both girls and they came in 1st and 2nd in jumpers and gamblers both (OK, so they were more experienced than most of their fellow competitors, but, oh, well - they both made up for it by being idiots in standard     , but we had a great time.) Nice to blow out the mental cob webs some times.

As for AKC, we're having a "supported OES entry" at Hounds here in Milwaukee in December. I'll only be running Sybil most likely, but Sunny and Gale and Stephanie are all thinking of coming down. Kathi usually enters at least a couple of days, and I have faith Pam & Simon will be ready by then.

Just saying... 8)

Sunny's Luca runs very much like Harry. You can share experiences.

Kristine
Good vibes from me and Teddy for the next time! :cheer: :cheer:

:ghug:

Cindy
Judi--good vibes from us here in Tennessee! I have not advice but know what it is like to pursue a goal over and over and over and over! Hang in there!

I doubt I will have any vacation time left by then. :(

Yeah, Kristine has a LOT of faith.

Judy, remember the first rule of agility...it has to be fun. When it stops being fun then its more like a chore and we all know we don't like to do chore's.

Pam - you have 3 1/2 months...and it's only six poles and you get multiple tries in novice. You'll be ready.

And you're exactly right about the fun aspect.
