Tornados

Wisconsin has been having some bad storms, last wk a man was killed in a mobile home when a small tornado went thru. That was about 10 miles north of us. We had no problem but got very black, rolling thunder and when the sun came out it rained. The tornado was only about 200 yards wide and went for about eight miles; did enough damage for not being that big.

Last night there were more storms more south and west of us, might have been a death they aren't sure yet.

Has been a bad year for weather that's for sure.

Indeed it has. One model has us returning to a La Nina for winter.....more snow for you, more drought for us. Lovely.
I saw you in WI had a tornado :(

Surprised me, as it never even rained here. We are on over 2 weeks with no rain. Not good. :(
Here in northern Illinois (practically Wisconsin), we have been getting torrential rain and violent thunder/lightning storms at least once a week, if not more. We have gotten so much rain this summer that it was a complete waste of money to hook up our lawn sprinkler system. Normally, we would run it once or twice a week, depending upon the heat. We have run it twice the entire summer so far.

Due to the heat, rain, and electricity from the lightning, hubby's garden has literally exploded. He can't keep up, especially with picking the cucumbers, and peppers. Unfortunately, we had a horrible storm when his tomatoes were budding, so the buds were blown to bits and the plants pretty much destroyed. Bummer. Hubby grows his plants from seeds, under fluorescent lighting in our basement every spring, so it's quite labor intensive. We'll be lucky to get a handful of tomatoes.

And don't even get me started about the mosquitoes........... They are HORRIBLE this year.

This weather is just crazy. Hopefully it calms down soon.

Laurie and Oscar
We were getting a lot of rain but more thru the center of the state and of course the southern part of the state close to you Lauri but we are really quite dry up here. Even with all the storms we get in the state a lot of time they miss us. We've had to water the garden every few days otherwise it dries right up, sand you know. What I would give for some good old clay.

Surprised to see Dawn's area isn't getting any rain; she's usually much better off than we are.
I'd love some rain. With Irene coming close, I thought we'd at least see some showers. But the forecast for the next 10 days is dry and sunny.
Ilene and Laurie...I'm confused. I live right between you two and Laurie says lots of rain and Ilene I watch the weather says lots of storms in northern WI.

My ground is hard as rock its so dry out there.
Pam, the storms don't get by us, I know radar shows green over our section but it usually fizzles out before it reaches us. The terribly hot weather didn't help either causing everything to brown up.

My kids live down by you in Grafton and Waukesha and they seemed to be getting enough from what I've heard, maybe not.

Sorry about you not getting any. We used to live in Grafton and we cursed everyone there too, we'd watch Cedarburg get rain and Pt. Washington and we'd be dry as a bone.

I do believe it's us.
