Tiggy decided to challenge Sybil in the goat stakes
Have you ever tasted valerian? I have and I told the practitioner who prescribed it that it would make anyone sleep so that they would never have to taste the revolting stuff again.  (DH wouldn't even kiss me good night, he said it smelled too bad). Consequently I buy valerian capsules, then I don't have to taste the stuff.It didn't deter Tiggy from eating all that was left in a bottle after she raided the pantry during the 45 minutes we left her alone to go supermarket shopping after we returned from holidays.  She gets a fish oil capsule every night and chews them up happily so I can only imagine that she chewed the valerian capsules too. Ewwwww. (need vomiting icon here)After checking the internet and finding reference to valerian, dogs and liver failure  there was a tense wait for our vet to call back to tell us that at the dose Tiggy had consumed the most likely side effect was gastrointestinal upset, especially as Tiggy had also eaten a number of glucosamine tablets and fish oil capsules, she didn't eat some of the others must not have tasted good.  There was also mention on the web of euphoria in dogs who overdose on valerian and I think this is the only side effect Tiggy experienced. Put it this way she sure wasn't sleepy. I was too worried to crate her so she slept with us in the bedroom and spent the whole night jumping on and off the bed. Wayne slept through. I did NOT. To date there has been NO gastrointestinal upset what so ever. So I am beginning to think that Miss Tiggy has developed a cast iron gut. I am still in awe of the fact that little Miss Goat ate so many foul tasting capsules. Sybil; Tiggy has raised the stakes; whatdaya say?? | Honestly, I don't know why Tiggy puts up with you guys. You treat her terribly by abandoning her to go on holiday then come back and make her vomit???? Poor poor Tiggy. You should emigrate to Canada, Tiggy darling, we would happily sponsor you and you could come and live with us. We would never be so mean to you! |

| Oh Tiggy, please girl do not call miss Tilly, do not e-mail her any ideas please,please please She gets in enough trouble as it is, the other day I was working answer the phone and I hear a noice, I turn around just to see her taking a little box of pins , and run and start chewing on the box before I could do nothing !!  I had to put the poor caller on hold and take that box from her, you and her sure have some goat in your blood line.  |
| I was wondering if you were going to let Tiggy tell her side of abandonment by her family. Took you long enough and her side is really the only side that we can believe. Poor girl was so distraught that she did something she never ever would have considered doing ever. It's just a good thing that she has a cast iron stomach and could withstand the assault on her poor, sensitive system. If jumping on and off the bed gave her comfort there is no reason for her not to do that. Poor, misunderstood Tiggy. She only played with that ball to take her mind off of abanondonment issues. |
| Oh my Tiggy! You and Sybil must be emailing my kids! These things happen all the time here... The most eventful was when Finn got on the stove and ate a pot of beans! Duibhin ate a bottle of fish oil pills once with no side effects  BUT those beans sure did the trick for Finn!Glad Tiggy's tummy is ok! Donners Mom |
