Dayton Sheep-In Lunch Poll

I called the parks department today after visiting the park last night. They have nothing in their rules about bringing in personal grills or tents except that there is no camping allowed.

The dog park is waaaaay in the back of the park. The closest park supplied grille is quite a hike. So depending how the poll goes, I'd be willing to bring along a grill that we can place near the dog park. I"m already gonna have my trailer so I can bring my show tent. (I used to work at car shows and I have a 10'X20' carport style tent.) I have one large cooler of my own and have several others at my disposal. If we do the grilling at the park, I'll supply the meat and the heat; flat stuff and tube stuff, (read burgers and dogs).

You guys decide; I'm good either way...

Easier yes, but more costly...

I think maybe we should bring some pastries , juice and coffee. It will be early, and then have fair food for lunch.

I agree! Good idea!

Cindy
In Vandalia, the city just South of Tipp is a family owned doughnut shop that's been in the same spot since the 40s. They make great doghnuts. Nothing fancy, just great doughnuts. We can grab some of them too.

I'll work on getting the coffee if someone else wants to handle a juice selection.

Vance
Maybe we could order pizzas and have them delivered to the park. We could all pitch in a certain amount of money.

Lisa Frankie and Mattie
We will bring the juices.

Another good idea!

I have a cooler on wheels and would provide pop and water if wanted by the group?

You can stock up on ice at the hotel :-)

Vance
:bulb: Brilliant idea about the ice! I will get water bottles, pepsi, diet pepsi and root beer if everyone would like. I don't drink diet pop so let me know how much of that I should bring.

Cindy
Keep in mind that the gathering will be at the Park from 9AM until Noon... unless we're having too much fun to hit the Festival at Noon. With that in mind, I think we'd be better off keeping to breakfast/brunch foods. So, with this in mind, Jen has suggested that I make my now famous, (famous at every place I've worked anyway) Bacon Explosion! This is a coronary on a plate. It makes for a perfect breakfast meal, if you don't mind seeing your cardiologist before lunch!

Since I drink pretty much nothing but iced tea, you can bank on me having a couple dozen teas in my cooler and I'll share.

Jen and I are coming up with 'activities' to entertain both uprights and dogs. If anyone has any good ideas, PM them to me. Lets keep this a bit on the surprise side until the big day; it'll be more fun.

Also, it might not be a bad idea to bring a little bit of pocket change as an auction just might break out...

Vance
oooooh! The Bacon Explosion thing sounds really good! :excited: I love bacon!

I also have a 9x9 screen tent I could throw in the back of the truck to use just in case if we need more shade or god forbid rain.

Cindy
I will bring lemonaide. I have a couple of insulated beverage servers so I will fill those. We will also bring some soft drinks. I am a coke brand person so we will bring Sprite, Diet Sprite and Coke. We may have some others around that we will bring.
I can make some of my Smore cookies for a snack later. Everybody likes them.

Dale bowls on Friday night so we will be coming on Saturday morning.

Carley said it is about time we take her somewhere fun.
