Misc updates after a bit of an absence

Greetings all! :hearts:

We just got back from my fair in Fairbanks (the one where we camp for 2 weeks) and I thought Id pop in with some kinda random updates on us. I normally keep up with the forum during the fair, but this year our internet was iffy, and I was kept hopping the whole time anyway  .

1st piece of (not very surprising  ) news: Gertie the Beagle is officially OURS for good! :yay: We confronted her former owners before we left, and sure enough, they really didn't care if they ever saw her again :( . This took a HUGE weight off of my mind before leaving though...I just wanted there to be no uncertainty.

Abby did great at the show. We had worried that she was getting too old for the stress and physical demands of a traveling fair, but with the simple addition of a platform to help her get into the trailer, she did just fine. Much popcorn was eaten, children thoroughly licked, the farm animals in the agricultural part of the fair got plenty of sheepie adoration, and many of my FBX customers have been added to the the AbbyandBert fanclub  . The show went great for me, sales were good and we had a fun time :D .

Gertie survived her time at home with a sitter, although she somehow managed to GAIN a ridiculous amount of the weight I had dieted off of her BACK  . She evidently figured out how to open the pantry while we were gone 8O :x

I'm glad Gertie is official. Sounds like you had a productive couple of wks and the furkids did well.
Someone should have warned you that Beagles are pretty darn smart. My nephew found this out the hard way too.

Great news on all accounts, except Gertie's girth of course...

We hope to see some pixs of the slimmed down Gertie. Beagles require constant vigilance......sigh. The ones I know here are also a bit........fluffy. Unless they are out chasing rabbits and digging for China, they tend to get....gerthie.
Good news on the sales...great news on Gertie becoming your little beagle girl. The weight will come off...I'm sure she's just "big boned." :D Great hearing from you!
I'm so glad to hear that Abby enjoyed the fair!

And congratulations on Gertie! That is so great!
Sounds like good stuff all the way around....ok, maybe not Gertie's girth gain.... 8)

Glad to hear the time in Fairbanks was good (all that daylight!), that Abby was able to enjoy herself as well. I'm sure she and Eggbert were soaking all the loving and attention up. :hearts:
Great news!

How are YOU feeling? How'd the fair go?
Great to hear that everyone is well and happy.

And I bet Gertie has been perfectly happy.
So wonderful to read that the fair went well and that you have a new, permanent family member! And that Gertie has you for good. Would love to hear about the fair when you have time.

The fair was delightful! :yay:

The weather was mild(ish) for Fairbanks, with most of the rain coming down at night and the days mostly in the upper 60s. Scott ingenious gutter system on our tent (I'm tempted to post pictures...it really was a thing of beauty!) kept not only my artwork dry, but also kept our campsite from flooding.

Sales were very good, and steady. The FBX public is so nice and friendly I feel like my face needs a break from all the smiling  .
