cute name

My sister, Anne, had a wonderful black Lab who was 14 yrs old, who passed away a few weeks ago. Black Jack was a great dog and loved his ball. Every time we would go to visit, there was Jack and his ball. When we went up to Michigan this past Thanksgiving, Jack sat right at my side to collect whatever might drop out of my hand. (wink) I was sad to hear of him crossing the Rainbow Bridge.

Anne went on a hunt for a new lab. She said the house was too quiet without a dog. She visited a few breeders and didn't connect with any of the pups. However, she did find a sweet little girl that the breeder told Anne, that Wishes and another pup were the "pick of the litter" she decided to keep back, but was now ready to find Wishes a home. Anne fell in love and made arrangements that they would pick Wishes up right after they came back from vacation.

After they came back from vacation they picked Wishes up and took her to their Vet. Her Vet said the dog had backward eyelids...Anne was so upset. She debated about keeping her or returning her...she had nothing commited but her heart. She said she debated for a few days with herself. Felt she was bambooseled by the Breeder, who said the dogs had been seen by a Vet and all was fine.

Anne decided to keep Wishes, She had the eye surgery and was fixed all in the same day. I'm happy to report that Wishes is recovering beautifully and Anne is so happy she decided to keep her. Anne did, however, decide to change her name. She named her Jacqueline Kennedy O'Stewart or Jackie O for short. Anne and her family are very happy with her.

So sad about Jack he sounds like he was a wonderful dog.

Love the name and so glad the surgery worked. Did the breeder pay for it?

No she didn't. Anne said she just wanted to take care of Jackie O and forget about the breeder. She feels, oc course, taken advantage of, but she feels she did the best for the pup.
Love the names.

Do you mean entropian? If so, I thought it was possible for it to mild enough at the beginning that it could be missed. So if the breeder's vet visit wasn't recent, it may have gotten worse after the vet visit. And I know it can present with no symptoms. Perhaps it happened that way and the breeder really didn't know. Or the breeder's vet may not have been thorough.
Just a thought, anyway.

Pictures? I love Labs.
