Our rescue group placed another Airedale yesterday :-)

Our Airedale rescue group (Airedale Rescue of Western New York) placed another 'dale yesterday with a new family.

Shelby is a 3-5 year old 'dale that some hikers found in the mountains on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina. She had no tags or collar on.
She followed the hikers back to their camp. They took care of her while they were camping and got her to a local rescue group down there.
Shelby made her way first to the New England Airedale rescue group and then finally our rescue group and was fostered near Albany, NY.

Her new family lives in Rochester, NY. Our Albany rescue member (Lisa) drove Shelby out to Syracuse and the new family drove in from Rochester (Syracuse is kinda the half-way point). Lisa asked me if Brick & I wanted to tag along since we live just a few minutes away from the rondevous point. We said sure.

So at about 1 PM, Shelby went home with her new family. She seems like a real sweetheart. The new owners seemed extremely excited to have a 'dale in their lives again. :clappurple:

I'll post some pics soon.

Lisa Frankie and Mattie
Wonderful, I've always liked Airedales too.
:go:What good news....a furever home! :go:
That is super!!! :clappurple:

How odd to find one in the mountains like that...poor dog!

We have virtually no Airdales around here..... :(
They are a lot of dog, so maybe it's a good thing, as they need to be in families who are active and like doing stuff!

What did Brick think of her??

It's funny. The older Brick gets, the more unaffected/uninterested he becomes in other dogs.
He gives them a few sniffs and that's all he needs.

He's way more interested in people. He LOVES people.
Here's some pics:

This is Brick looking at Shelby

She's a really cute dog!
I hope it's a match and all works well. :D

Quite an airedale get together!!
she looks smaller or is that just me. she is so lucky those campers found her and took care of her. Could have been a whole different story if they hadn't. New family looks happy.

I think it will work out well.
The family has had 3 'dales in the past, so they understand the breed.

She's a bit smaller than Brick & Max but the girls tend to be just a smidge smaller than the boys.
She is a cutie!
What a wonderful happily ever-after!!! Good luck Shelby!!!
Look at her smile in that last picture. She is so glad to be found.
