Great day of agility

Trial today. Had both of the little girls entered. They're both in excellent standard and excellent jumpers, and they're in the same jump height, which means I have to run them fairly close together. The benefit is that I learn from whomever I run first. Today it was Mace's turn to go first. She had a gorgeous excellent jumpers run except for a bar down due to poor timing on my part. I changed how I handled that section when I ran Sybil and she won the class. It wasn't the most efficient run we've ever had, ahem  involving a quick "save handler's butt" moment early on. But we worked through it together and it just felt good. A friend taped the run and said she'll put it online when she gets a chance, so I may have actual video to show for a change.

In standard they both got a little goofie with the weaves, plus Mace had a blonde moment, and I had a blonde moment when running Sybil. But it was a fast, fun course and we had a blast. The most fun I've had in ages. Everyone was cheering and clapping for each other. I got to see a lot of really great agility and spend the day with my dogs. Life at its finest. Some times you just have to take a deep breath and cherish the moment. 8)

Congratulations to Sybil on her win :cheer: I'm glad you and your girls had such a great day at agility. It's truly amazing how much joy our furkids can bring to our lives. :wag: Can't wait to see the video.
:cheer:  That sounds great  :cheer:

I hope we get to see some "sister" video :hearts:

Have fun and win big tomorrow - OES supremacy :high5: :high5:

We have a one day trial on the 30th, only could get the Saturday off work. We haven't run in months...so no guarantees. Plus with this weather we've only had 3 classes since JUNE! 2 groups, one private...so sad.

We'll be waiting on that video :cheer:
CONGRATS Kristine!!!

Sounds like we both had a great day!
Vance

Congratulations! I can't wait to see the video!
Thanks, guys!

Had another great day today. Well, the standard judge runs tiny dogs and it showed. A very tight and cranky course for the big dogs. Mace was a little blonde, but did all the hard stuff. Sybil was...Sybil. 8) They both made up for it in the jumpers, though this time it was Sybil's turn to take a bar down. She ran fabulously, though. Mace ran clean and ended up in fourth. I got some many compliments on their runs I'm going to have to wait for the head swelling to come down ;-)

Fun day.

No word on the videos yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Kristine
Congrats! :high5:

Hee Hee you said "Blonde moment." Goofy~
Kristine you can't describe something so wonderfully and not post videos!! I'm dying for your friend's video post!
Those girls...glad you all had a good day out there. :D :D

Congrats on the placing and Q run, and on the "almosts" as well!!

I'm assuming it's Jan with the video. Maybe I need to put some pressure on her, eh??

Me too! But I don't want to nag her. It was a loooong weekend, and though a very fun one, we were all exhausted at the end.

I'm not sure which runs she taped. Mostly jumpers that I know of. And yesterdays runs may be a little spotty, she warned me, as she would hold one dog while I was running the other as there were only 4 dogs in between them in the running order.

I think she may have Sybil's Sunday standard run, not one of her better efforts <snicker> It was a tight and cranky, course, but she still had to add own her own flair...There was a 90 degree turn off the A-frame to a jump and, of course, as she came over the a-frame, she had already decided we were going straight...She didn't take an offcourse because she turned as I called her, and though the path was not quite as I had planned - hm 8) - we were still clean up until that point. As she headed back she had to move right past the judge, so she slowed down, uberfriendly troll that she is, and stuck her nose in the judge's, hm, crotch as way of greeting  Then she continued on as if nothing had happened.

Or at least that's how I remember it, all the more reason to hope that was one of the runs that was taped according to a classmate who was in stitches. Surprisingly it's always funnier when someone ELSE'S dog does these things...

I'd like to say this is the first time one of them have done something so embarrassing, but her sister was so fascinated with a male judge that we had at a trial this spring - she was convinced he was just dying to say hello to her - that she once left the table early to run over and stick her nose in his crotch...Just can't take this critters out in polite society

No, it wasn't Jan - she wasn't entered. It was a classmate who runs basenjis. She's like me - involved at the club level, getting ready for their national specialty which is being held here - i.e. always swamped like I am, so I hate to push her. She'll get to it when she can.

I'm seriously thinking I need to get one of those handy little flip cameras. Mine takes nice quality footage, for all the good it does me as you have to jump through so many hoops to be able to upload it.

I have a handy little flip one....however, our digital camera takes nice video as well

Here's the little camcorder I have - it's a Best Buy brand. Mine is a different model and blue, but essentially the same.

Sounds like you had a great fun weekend, Kristine. I always enjoy seeing our OES in action. Will look forward to the video. I was so hoping to see your girls run in person in October.

Tammy - I was looking forward to it too. But with my Dad's illness and passing I didn't feel comfortable breeding Macy on her last heat, like I had originally planned, so I'm breeding her shortly and will have to stay home with puppies. Which is both good, and, not so good. I hate missing the national, but it's now or never or I won't have dogs to run in the future...

Will be thinking about you guys, though. I was just talking to Sunny about it yesterday and she promised to call me with updates, and, not, presumably, in the middle of the night to order me to drive to the specialty on a booze run as happened when the national was in Minnesota a few years ago, I mention no names <vbg>

I'm sure you guys will have a blast.

Well, obviously I'm the wrong person to ask about how "our" camera operates    Were you able to reset whatever it was you were struggling with?

Is that the camcorder that produced the videos you post? Nice quality. I'm going to look into it. Let's see, first Garmin, then digital camera, now camcorder... So nice to have someone to do the techie research for me.

The videos I post are mostly from our camera (we have the same camera, for those who don't know this :D ), and the rest are from the camcorder I linked.

And the flash issue, yes I did finally fix it, but not before I accidentally deleted the photos on the memory card...not a total loss, but there were pics I hadn't uploaded on the computer yet...among them pics from daughter Lisa's bachelorette party... :plead:
