| They explore their environment with every sense, including their tongue. Some are more "oral" than others. Feet have a lot of sweat glands so are more tempting to the oral explorer. You can train them to stop, but it takes time. remember grooming is a pack behavior as well. You are part of the pack and they are showing deference to you. Harry insists I do not wear lotion of any type, otherwise he licks it off. Fortunately if it has been on for awhile he can't smell it and will leave it alone.....except for a few real stinkers. |

Our dalmo is the big licker.  But last Christmas my Mom gave me a gorgeous all natural ingredients lavender body balm from a lavender farm near her house. Can't wear it in summer! Both dogs follow me around licking it off at every opportunity. |

| In the evening Dexter gets into licking my feet progressing to the little front teeth nibbles they do when the clean their own feet. If I don't stop ithe moves into grabbing a single toe in his teeth, that does not tickle! He also roots under my foot to get it on his head. He loves me to rub his head with my foot. That too often progresses to bites. He doesn't do the foot thing to anyone else but does love the flavor of fresh body lotion on my wife's legs. (I don't use lotion) |
