New Puppy SATURDAY!!!

Saturday morning I leave bright and early to pick up my new puppy!!! It's 150 mile drive and I'm so excited I can't hardly stand it! No, he's not an OES......... he's my SECOND favorite breed; a maltese. I hope I have Tasker prepared for being a "new brother".

I THINK I have everything ready, toys bowls, crate and even a "crib" in the bedroom for him to sleep in (next to Tasker's bed and our bed). I've knitted a "coming home blanket and sweater" (yes everyone thinks I've lost my mind) :D We bought the recommended brand of puppy chow and distilled water so we can get him used to our well water slowly.

I've read new and old training books (as you know from all the "spouting" I've been doing). But now the big question comes, can an OLD DOG (me) teach a NEW DOG (him) how to be a GOOD DOG :D

Tasker surely knows something is up, new crates new bowls, new toys, he even got a new bed (guilt). I've been waiting for this since a week before TY was born and he'll be 9 weeks old on Thursday.

I'm SOOOOOOOO excited :clappurple:

Congratulations! How exciting! Can't wait to see pictures :D
What a cute combination :D Of course you know we need pictures.
Congratulations!! I can feel your excitement! I'm sure Tasker will be a GREAT big brother and will probably even make training Ty easier, because Ty will be watching Tasker.

What fun times are ahead! And don't forget - PICTURES!!

Chris
Oh yes indeedy there will be pictures!!!! I'm on "maternity" leave (pupernity?) all next week so I'll have lots of free time. Yeah, right it'll be like having a new baby at home!!!!! I'm very nervous about the housebreaking deal........ Tasker was the easiest dog in the worl to teach and I understand that smaller dogs can be more of a challenge. We have bought a great big box of something called "puppy pads" back "in the day" they used newspapers
Congratulations on your new puppy !!

That's great you have next week off to enjoy your new pup,
its nice Tasker will have company !
Enjoy your "maternity leave" !!!!

Best wishes and please post pictures soon... :D
Congratulations! Can't wait to see pics :)
One more day!!!!! I am so excited I couldn't sleep last night. I am worrying about Tasker, I don't want him to feel displaced. But he is such a laid back loveable guy I think he'll take it in stride. Many years ago my daughter had a chinchilla and Tasker and Bently (the chinchilla) were great friends. Bently would crawl around Taskers head and Tasker would just lay there. Ty should be about the size of the chinchilla (1.4 lbs last wk) so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

And of course there are all the new puppy worries, what if he doesn't eat, what if he doesn't potty train, and what if he doesn't sleep at night!!!!!!!!

YIKES YIKES YIKES. I have new mother jitters.
Taskers Mom-

Have a safe trip !!!

Here's a site to put you into the relaxed mode!

www.bhejei.com/malteseinfo.htm

Enjoy!!!!

(they are beautiful!!)
Zahra,
Oh THANK YOU, what a wonderful site. I had not seen that site!! I'm like a kid on Christmas eve, I just asked Doug if we could go to bed NOW so that morning would come sooner  But now I'll have to stay up reading the web site hehehehehe. I'm thinking about giving Tasker a bath tonight so he'll be nice and clean to meet his brother :D

Hard to believe I'm a grown woman with two adult children. The girls at work had a little "puppy shower" today, lots of chew toys, puppy pads and a puppy sweater. Toooooo funny.

Doug brought a digital camera home from work so hopefully I can get some pictures of Tasker and TY posted this weekend. No thanks to Ron and his new fangled picture posting site (I JUST figured out the old one).

Well, off to browse the web site :D

We have decided to get up and leave by 6 tomorrow. Doug was teasing me on the way home and asked if I wanted to drive up tonight and spend the night so we could pick Ty up early. I thought he was serious :( Darn!
TRY to get some rest so you won't be exhausted tomorrow. If you don't go to bed like a good girl Santa won't give you anything  Have a safe trip and....pictures :D
I'm leaving dog biscuits and kibble out for the puppy fairy........
This is your primary nurse speaking,

Get to bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
I'm headed to give Tasker a bath, "we" decided he should be spit shinned for the "big" day!!! 8)
Ha Ha !!!
I knew that !!
Oh, difficult patient. Where's that care plan book ?
Now I have to shuffle diagnostically related groups
I think it is DRG..gunna get a puppy.7 and I know there is a modifier for difficult patient somewhere heree..........

Do I detect another "medical professional" in our group?

Ok, Tasker is bathed, I got some pictures I am going to try to post but doubt I can figure out the new fanged system. So I'll most likely give up. Gotta go watch the LAST EPISODE of JAG anyway. Then it really is off to bed.

TOMORROW, TOMORROW, Puppy Day TOmorrow :clappurple:
Are you sleeping yet?

IT'S TODAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:clappurple: 8)
How exciting to get another doggy! :D Pictures! Pictures!
WE ARE HOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long drive!!!!! Tasker and Ty are getting aquainted on Dad's lap. Pictures are posted :D
Great pictures :D Tell us more!!!!
Well, since you asked.................. :D Ty and Tasker are sound asleep, side by side, on the living room floor as I type. They played themselves out this morning. Ty did very well last night. He slept in his crate, next to the bed, from 9 to 2:30. WOke up then for a visit to the potty pad and a bit of playing then slept til 5:40. We got up then and he ate like a pigl, visited the potty pad again and then came and slept with us for a couple hours :D

Tasker and Ty are doing well, Tasker is a very gentl dog and has been sooo sweet. We've given him LOTS of extra attention and so far seems to be accepting Ty as a playmate. We just have to watch out forhis paw, it's as big as TY.

The funniest thing is how Doug has taken to him!!!! He wasn't real thrilled with the idea of another puppy......... but you should see him now (isn't that always the way-the bigger they are the harder they fall!!)

I've decided not to even try outside potty training yet. It's the rainy season here and because we just built in the fall I haven't so much as a blade of grass (see Tasker's Boots :D ). But the pad thing is going well, I was a bit concerned that Tasker would think they were for HIM TOO but not so far. So far so good!!!

Aren't you glad you asked!!!! HEHEHEHE

Was going to post more pictured but it's kinda like baby pictures, not everyone thinks YOUR KIDS are the cutest in the world except you :D
Congrats! It sounds like you are going to have a lot of fun and laughs with these two! LOL :)
Love the pictures of Tasker and Ty in the photo gallery !
New pictures in the photo section :D I guess it's just like having a new baby, you'll have to be patient with the deluge of photos. Day 3 and all is well....(fairly). Tasker and Ty are getting along very well although Ty is starting to push the envelope a bit. Tasker doesn't mind when he grabs the fur on his ear or toe and pulls but he's not real keen on him pulling the fur on his mouth. :? Ty slept from 9 to 5 last night in his crib next to the bed, YIPPEE :clappurple: . I've discovered I have to be a little more vigilant in keeping an eye on Ty, he's not quite as good at hitting the pee pad as I thought, it's just that he pee's only drops so you don't notice  . Tasker has discoverd Ty's food bowl :( so we now have "supervised" feeding. Ty is adjusting to short periods in his pen, I think Tasker feels quite superior being on the OUTSIDE
LOVE the new pictures! The one where Tasker is pawing a stuff sheepie while little Ty looks on is just too cute! And to see the sleeping next to each other - it doesn't get any more "Awwwww" then that!

New picture, ment to put it under other dogs but forgot to change the file. I wanted to see if I could follow Ron's direction. We'll see if it works!!!!
Well, that's one way! anyone clicking on that will definitely be brought to see your picture. but a little further under there, was another line:

Forum BBCode: Image

If you put THAT line in your post (well, only the part from the [img], not the title "Forum BBCode"), it will "embed" it right into the post and look like this:

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!! Thanks Ron, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!!!
I do LOVE that picture... The blankie coordinates well with forum.oes.org's color scheme!
HEHEHEHEHEHE, then you'll love the sweater that goes with it!!
But, are there coordinating boots !!!! :D

Love the picture, Ty is just lovable !!!
You've got another precious baby there!! Congrats!!
Image

Let's see if this works..........

Sorry, no cordinating boots, yet........ but then his poor little feet haven't actually touched real dirt yet
awwwwww!!!!
Image

I have entirely too much time on my hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to worry though, I'll be back to work soon. We took our first road trip today. We went to Agway and the Hardware store in our sweater and carrier. Tigh was a hit. Tasker got a new chew toy out of it. Guilt is a powerful motivator.
