Happy Canada Day!!

Hmm, we need a maple leaf emoticon! If there was one, I would put it here....

Happy Birthday to my fellow Canadians and all of you Canadians at heart out there. Prince William and his new bride are here in Ottawa. I am not leaving my house (insane crowds) except to take Mady to watch the fireworks (love living so close to Parliament Hill that we can see the fireworks from the off-leash dog park). Oh and Amber, I don't know what you did to make Mady not go nuts when she hears fireworks, but thank you!!

You really should take Mady to see the Prince /Princess!! I am sure they would invite you to the castle after seeing what a lovely old ENGLISH sheepdog she is!!!

((She IS your ticket to fame and fortune...dontchaknow????))

   Kisses to Mady from Heart :hearts: !!!!
Happy Canada Day, thought of you when I saw William and Kate on the news this morning. Looked to see if I could see you in the crowd, would have known it was you by Mady of course.
Happy Canada Day... O Canada and the Great White North!

Some of my fondest memories include time in British Columbia, Yukon Territory, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec provinces!

What a physically great and free country!

Happy Canada Day!!

Soooo, please extend my limited Canada knowledge - what exactly are you celebrating??
We are celebrating the 144th birth of our nation as an independent democratic country (well, in modern terms anyway-it was a nation full of different First nations before the Europeans came!), although our apron strings are still ceremonially tied to the United Kingdom, but most Canadians kind of like it that way, having a Queen that is around for fancy occasions, but who doesn't boss us around.
