To anyone in Canada

There is a kennel somewhere near New Brunswick(Canada) that is being disbanded. Apparently the owner tried to kill herself and is in no shape to care for 60 dogs. She also raised Springers so many of the dogs are mixed breeds. I have been told the RSPCA has taken all the mutts. This information came to me through a rescue/breeder, she stressed that she did not know anything for sure, but added there would be many OES coming in. If anyone has heard about this please let me know and I'll pass it along. Thanks

Joan tells me that NEOESR has been aware of this for some time, and has authorized the placement director to extend a hand.
How sad! Glad to see someone stepping up to help out! Man- I wish I had my house already....

Karen :)
Do they know when the dogs will be available? From what I understand the number is quite large. What a sad story :(
There are several states actually closer to New Brunswick than most of Canada.... The closest provinces/states to NB are Quebec, Nova Scotia, ME, MA, CT and NY.
I didn't think of that :D maybe some people there can help.
I've sent an email to see if I can find out what the status is. If everyone will be a little patient, I'll let you know what I learn. ;)
If there's any puppies or really young dogs, I'd be really interested in adopting. My mom is looking for a dog and we were going to adopt one that was offered on the board but the deal fell through and Mom was pretty disappointed. Is there any problem bringing a dog over the national border? Can anyone tell me how this works or would they be coming here already?

Keep me posted!

Jill
To ship a dog or pup into the states, they have to have all shots up to date, and have a vet certificate of health done ten days before the flight or drive. They charge for flights by weight, I think it starts at 153 dollars and goes up per pound from there.
There is a female OES/Springer Mix up for adoption in Halifax, Nova Scotia from this kennel. I have a male OES/Springer Mix that is 2 1/2 from this kennel that I recused in March o4. It was a rough start, but everything has worked out beautiful. He has settled in and is a wonderful addition to our home.

I have been in contact with the people that have Oreo on a number of occasion, and what it boiles down to is that they just don't have time for this little girl in their busy corporate lives.... why get a dog when you can't devote the time to her is beyond me.. anyways, if she is anything like my Murphy, she will make someone who has the time a WONDERFUL pet.

There isn't a picture posted of her, but she is beautiful.
