Thanks for posting, great info ![]() ![]() |
You can also go to dog shows to talk to the breeders/owners. ![]() You can find local big dog shows on this site:- http://www.highampress.co.uk/default.asp Check the schedules for the shows to make sure there is OES listed before you turn up ![]() Talk to the breeders/owners after they have been in the ring as they are very busy beforehand. This is an ideal time to look at the dogs and to check out the temperament of the dogs they are using to breed from. Also be aware, if the breeder/owner knows you are after a puppy,You will get questioned.A good breeder/owner will not let a puppy go to a home they think is unsuitable. |

Thanks for that. I will start the hunt next week. We miss our lovely Celyn and are hoping to get a couple of baby boys later this year. House is just too quiet and clean with one!![]() |
Daft question but how do I post and image into my reply? Cheers Debs |

without this forum i would never have been spotted by sixpence, i was planning to buy a puppy from a less than awesome breeder and i'm so grateful she spotted us and saved us from heartache. i know no puppy comes with a 100% guarantee of future health but the better the breeder the better the chance you'll have a happy healthy dog. i wish every future owner would read this post i think it would save a lot of heart ache down the line, if we only buy from responsible breeders the crappy money grabbing ones would be out of business. thank you for all your help and advice this is a fantastic post. ![]() |

We done alot of looking & we was so lucky to find Colin & Pauline Barnes. We have a great puppy from them & they help us so much also all the people who show there dogs. Cannot thank these people enough ![]() ![]() |
I got my boy from Colin & Pauline, even though they are a 3 hour drive from us! I cannot fault them or my boy! You can't beat decades of experience & a thoughtful breeding & showing program. |
Do you still show him ? |
I obtained my first OES from the Shepton Kennels north of Birmingham near Wolverhampton. That was in 1973 don't know if still available but they sire only quality dogs. Sired Dulex dogs several times. Good luck |
