Heatwave!

We are baking up here in Minnesota - it just hit 97 degrees

We had such a cold "spring" - knew it was going to go right to summer - but this is too extreme!

Todd got the AC units in (2 window ones) this morning......and I was lucky I picked up an extra shift at work today - as it's too hot to go out and do stuff at home. :(
Same forecasted for tomorrow - plus wind.

On the good side, we go way down by Friday - only 66 for a high! 8O CRAZY weather!
I swear we've totally skipped all the nice 75 -80 degree days

It is crazy everywhere--we have been high 90's for a week and expect another week of the same without rain! This is August weather! Hate it!
it's 97 here today too. But being Texas I guess we expect it, just not this soon. We've been lucky though in North Texas, we had a really cool spring and lots of rain. South Texas has been 100 + for a month now and NO rain. Everything down there is dead. Major drought conditions. When I start to complain about our cold temps and constant rain I stop and remember my family in San Antonio and thank God for what hes giving us. My family was just here for my daughters graduation and all they could say was how good it felt (95 degrees) and how green everything is.
Look on the bright side....
Your corn bill will not be huge this month
We didn't hit quite what Dawn did but in the high 80's and humid. Had storms again but all south of Green Bay so once again we will sit with hot, dry and miserable. We'll drop down to the 70's and 60's on Thurs and Friday. Glad I hoed the gardens yesterday when the humidity was down because today I did nothing outside.
We're supposed to go into the 90's for the rest of the week.

Dawn's right. What happened to spring?
We went from snow to rain to heat.
Our area is ranging from 90-101. HOT and HUMID~~~ And it is just the beginning of JUNE!!!!
I would do ANYTHING for a drop in the 60s by the end of the week. It's already too hot for outside play!
Lmao, its been a heat wave for my area....the low 70's.

Where I am we are lucky, REALLY lucky if it gets upper 80's, low 90's in the summer. Those are the really super nice summers.
We're around 90 today but with a nice breeze off the ocean, a beautiful day. 8)
It's that global warming... remember this in six months when we're inside freezing and our dogs are outside in a foot of snow panting...

Vance
We are getting your heat wave tomorrow into Wed and Thursday...expecting temps about 97 and humidty levels that will feel like 100! Air conditioner is pumping and don't plan to lower it as it will take too much to get it cool again! In my house, sweaters are called for tonight...but tomorrow, get the shorts ready!

Weren't we just complaining about the snow!
When you all are thinking it's too hot, just keep this in mind....

......and you will probably be grateful. :D
^^^^^^^^^^^
Can I get an AMEN!!!

I typically don't complain about the temps as I grew up in Iowa and we saw the worst of the worst in every season. For 100 degrees summer days, to 3 feet of snow in early April one year. Gotta learn to just roll with it...

Actually--I would prefer that to 100 degree heat index--with 100% humidity--!
Try 89 degrees F @ 9:30 at night, feels like 95 degrees. Thermometer I drive by every day said 98 F on my way home from work. I've never seen that number up there before. 97 is the highest I can remember.

Frankly, it doesn't feel that bad to me (yet) Humidity must not be too bad. I'm sure I'll be whining with the best of them by tomorrow, we have a heat advisory in effect for all day. Thursday it's supposed to drop down to a high of 64 degrees, and 56 F on Friday; now where did I put my long johns???

Welcome to Wisconsin 8)

Kristine
Friggin cold here, winter and tracky daks on, ugg boots, windcheater and throw rug over the legs. Top today 12 C.

This weekend is a long weekend in OZ and the opening of the snow season, plenty has fallen so far for the opening, who said global warming was happening!!! :lmt:
I hate extreme temps of any kind, so Mark, I'll pretend you did not post that picture. Typical Chicago year--winter straight into summer. I really don't care, except I tend to fret about Bob the Wonder Pony. I have yet to install a/c in his stall. However, he's grey so he doesn't get as hot as the darker horses.
When it gets this hot and humid I prefer looking at pictures like Mark posted. We had 2 minutes of rain this morning; that helped a great deal.
We are having a few days of extreme heat before cooling down for the weekend here :phew:

I wouldn't mind so much, but jumping back and forth from cold to hot and back doesn't give anyone a chance at acclimating.

Izzie is getting her July/August early morning and late night walks early this year
OK, we just hit 101 degrees here 8O

And the wind is 45 mph - so we are in both a heat advisory and a wind advisory.

It's our 1st night of our new agility session (outdoors for the summer), I wonder if they will cancel?
Chewie will hate it (too hot) and I will wilt and turn beet red... :?

And it's only supposed to be 76 tomorrow...gotta love the midwest weather!
Dawn, if they have any sense they'll cancel. Those two advisories are a bad combination. Gross. Thankful we're on hiatus here in terms of classes. I've never worried about training/trialing and excessive heat the first week of June.... Bizarre. 8O

Stay cool!

Kristine
...and they just canceled (cancelled?  ) our class.

Thankfully I have no trials entered, as we have been off a few weeks between sessions prior to this and the yard was impassable not that long ago!
We've just getting ready for rally at our Specialty this Friday, and 2 local weight pulls in July. Seeing they are the only pulls scheduled all summer, I decided to do them, then get ready for agility trials. I have some agility handling/training skills we need to perfect anyway!
Oh baby its warm outside :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

101 on my car temp and I'm lovin it!! Heck I don't ever remember it being this high. I don't have to take time to pile on cold weather cloths, pair of shorts, t-shirt and I'm ready to roll.

I do have to say that if I didn't have somewhere to go to cool off and had to spend all my time in the heat...I might feel just a tad different. But for now :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
Way to hot for me or should I say us..

It's supposed to be 97 and humid today here in Michigan with a heat advisory. By the weekend 60's. :clappurple:

I have spent the late morning in my new pool on a floaty. Matties having a spa day and Frankies at the vet.

Lisa Frankie and Mattie
Sounds good. I spent our last two 100 degree days at work for 12 hour shifts in the AC!

Seeing our pool is replaced (we had a hole in our old one from over winter), I really would have liked to see some pool time!!
Today it's in the 80's (and still at work)...tomorrow supposed to be 70 and cooler after that - and I'm off starting Thursday - figures! No pool or sun for me :(

Although for Friday to be cool is great - our OES club's specialty show is this Friday, and then the associated all breed shows are on Saturday/ Sunday. :D
We're officially at 97 now. Although the thermometer in the Blazer read 100.
Hasn't been this hot in CNY since June 8th, 2008.

Storms tomorrow and low 70s by the weekend.
It is moving fast, thank goodness. :phew:
Today we are at 76, and half the wind - 20-30 mph.

Yay, we get to go to rally class tonight!! :clappurple:
The kennel club's training center has no AC.... so it's very weather dependent there, unlike at The Paw
Mark, I am with you here in NY! Even though I am miles away south, our temps hit 95 today and expecting even higher tomorrow! With severe thunderstorms tomorrow as well...

I personally enjoy the weather like the picture...at least I can put on a sweater to get warm...with this hot humid weather, how much can I take off :cow: :cow:

I felt bad about my dogs getting a shave down after our fire...they are loving it now! Might go for a shave down for myself :lmt:

It's your silver lining for the dogs!

Well, we are on the COOL side - down to 72 and not a speck of humidity - sunny and breezy.
But - its dropping too far - predicted 49 tonight!! 8O What crazy weather.....50 degree change in 1 day. :?

Oh baby it cold outside...we hit the cold side    I think it hit  56 degrees for the "high" today and very windy...I'm hating this!!!
Wed and Thurs we had broken heat records, yesterday I got up and it was just above 40 and today the furnace went on. We might actually get some much needed rain today.
