Country Music & Apprentice Fans-

Went out to get the mail this afternoon--saw a huge black cloud of smoke billowing up in the sky. Trace Adkins' home was on fire and burning out of control. His home has burned to the ground. The fire started in the garage --they think the dryer was the source of the fire.

His wife had just put him on a plane to Alaska when she was called and told of the fire. He does not land until 11:30 tonight and does not even know that his house has burned. Wife-children and all pets are safe!

They live right down the street from us--The boys and myself walked down to see if we could help with anything. Very sad-- I may be housing their pets tonight.

Oh how sad for them to lose their home, but how wonderful that all are safe.
Glad every one is safe...What a good neighbor you are to take their pets in. :ghug:

ditto that!
What terrible news for him and his family.

I hope we can all put all of these disasters behind us in the next couple of years.
Glad all people and pets are safe.
Did you puppysit?
Went back late yesterday evening to see if I needed to bring the dogs back with me. They have two very young Australian Shepherds and two very young girls. One of the dogs had to be rescued after the fire was well under way. It was completely traumatized and had become extremely upset during the rescue--and had scratched and tried to bite one of the little girls. They almost did not get him out in time.

We all agreed that under the circumstances to bring them to a strange place might not be the best idea. So they stayed with the girls last night with a neighbor.

This has been extremely sad--to see a 5,000 square foot home burn completely to the ground with two fire departments doing every thing they could to bring it under control. :( :(

We had close to 100 degree temps here yesterday and that contributed to the problem with the fire. Once it reached the attic--it was a lost cause they said.
The fire started about 3:00 and burned well into the night even with the fireman fighting it aggressively.

It is extremely sad as this was their primary residence and many years of memories and most of the history of his music career was in that house.

Initially they said they thought it started with the dryer--but now they doubt that. It did start in their garage but right now not sure as to why.

They are a beautiful family and of course well loved in this community. It is difficult to know that there is really nothing a person can do to help significantly. :( :(
