A Florida sheepie spring break?
Need some feedback. 1. February or March 2012? 2. Who would be interested? We have lots of fun stuff to do: Spring training baseball - dog friendly area in the outfield. Cocoa Village - beautiful little village on the intracoastal. Lots of dog friendly restaurants and parks Kennedy space center visitor complex - Suzy will check to see if we can bring the dogs in Sebastian Beach Inn - great restaurant on ocean. Huge deck. Dog friendly. music. If you want can go on the beach with dogs or just stay on deck and view the ocean and listen to some reggae. Bar b q. My house (huge yard fenced one acre) Play time suzy's even bigger (4 acres fenced) auction for rescue of course mexican restaurant - dog friendly, huge outdoor area Indoor dog park and agility. Hotel close to all. is dog friendly. If anyone wants, Disney, universal and other attractions in Orlando are 45 minutes from Melbourne We can look into those more. Downtown melbourne - lots of dog friendly restaurants and shops and more... So let us know if anyone would be interested. Should be lots of fun and a break from winter for our northern friends |

Its alot closer to Texas thats a plus, but those of us with school age kids will have a hard time in February. Hummmm maybe I could call up the grandparents...  What part of Florida is this? We have family in Navarre, beach is sooo pretty there.  |
| We will see how many want to attend in 2o12. We are in central Florida on the Atlantic coast. About 1 hour from Disney. 20 minutes from Kennedy space center. 15 from cocoa beach. As for people with kids, this will be a Friday, Saturday Sunday event. Or we can make it less days. Or find a holiday weekend. We have options and open for suggestions Oops forgot to log in. Duh |
| We visit Florida every spring, I would think you could put something together right around Easter and it would be worth the wild in florida.... Just too too far to St. Louis...and hey it's warmer in Florida in Feb, Mar, and april..............GO FOR IT !!!!!  |

I can make Syracuse to St. Louis in about 13-14 hours. Syracuse to Cape Canaveral is ~20 hours. Salamanca, NY to Cape Canaveral is 19-20 hours Salamanca, NY to St. Louis is 12-12.5 hours I think people from the east think St. Louis is so far away because it's west of us, almost in the middle of the country. On a map, it LOOKS farther away. In reality, it's like driving from Syracuse to a little further than Charlotte, NC. Maybe it's an optical illusion on a map.  But I will agree with you that Florida in February & March is very tempting. |
| We drove 18 hours to st Louis. It was worth it! We thought it would be nice for some to get warm in February or march. And to do it in year that there is no sheepiepoloolza. As for Easter, that can be a difficult time. Hotels are priced higher and restaurants are full. It is not so much fun for us who live here So the dates are up in the air now. We will see... It will be fun |

| Carol--we would consider doing both a "Spring Break" in Feb. and a Sheepiepalooza in May! I could get excited about two Sheepie events next year! I agree with Brenda--a sign would be fun--brings back memories of the children's championship ball games!! Why not???  |

| You are so funny mike! We will get a name soon. Bet you have more. Don't forget we are in the "space coast," Suzy and I spoke yesterday and have decided to do "......." Florida in 2013. We wanted to do it on the off year of sheepiepolooza. Additionally I will be going to school in Mexico for a few weeks in January into February 2012. That would make the planning and final details difficult So plan on February 2013 in Florida! Three days fun in the sun with our sheepies! |

| Yay Kim! Come on down anytime you want. But 2013 we will have a blast with all the others! Mark. As of right now there is no legal dog beach. By 2013 there should be. There is a big movement for one and it is gaining ground. The west coast is far more dog friendly when ot comes to beaches. There is a restaurant on the beach that is on our plans where the dogs can go on the beach. I don't bring mine because I do not want to spend the hours and days getting the sand off of them. I miss all from sheepiepolooza! Will see you next year and 2013! |

| It will be lots of fun! I am already talking with the owner of the indoor park / agility She loves it! Been talking with restaraunts etc We have lots of time to plan. So mark your calanders now for february 2013. Will get specific dates posted. See you in St Louis next year! |

So save some of your VACA time to be a part of this wonderful NATIONAL SHEEPDOG EVENT~~~ You have two years to begin training your sheepies in Agility and Rally so you can (maybe) get your title at that Nationals~~~  |

| It will be in Melbourne Fl. Well we may make some deals with hotels in cocoa beach on the beach. It is all close. I think there are wonderful camp grounds in cape canaveral. Nice location. Also there is Wickham park which os also located well and very close to my house. Suzy may know of others. This area is about 1 hour from Disney on the Atlantic coast. Just south of Kennedy space center. Lots here! Come on over from Texas! Love to meet you! |
