Sheepiepalooza 2011 Auction - Thank You!!!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their generous support of Midwest Old English Sheepdog Rescue at Sheepiepalooza. So many of you went out of your way to make items for the auction, put together great gift baskets, purchase sheepdog items to donate or even give up items from your own precious collections to help OES rescue. Plus schlepping them to St. Louis in already packed vehicles or going to the effort of mailing things when you wanted to help but couldn't even be there to enjoy the festivities.

Also a huge thank you to everyone who bid on the really cool things available at the auction. There were several fierce bidding wars throughout the auction and people just kept battling back and forth because the proceeds were for a good cause. Where else could you get an OES rubber ducky for such an exorbitant price?

Judi did a great job as auctioneer again so a special thanks goes to her. Also to Val and all their helpers and to the St. Louis OES Club for choosing us as the lucky recipients of the proceeds.

This year Midwest Old English Sheepdog Rescue, Inc. became a 501(c)3 charitable organization after a long association between the Minnesota Old English Sheepdog Rescue and the Indiana Old English Sheepdog Rescue, started in 2006. We've had several dogs recently requiring very expensive medical care, including Laverne who suffered bloat on Thanksgiving night last year. Emergency care for Laverne alone exceeded $3,500 but she survived! Most dogs that come into rescue must be spayed or neutered and updated on vaccinations. Several dogs have had heartworms, very expensive and dangerous to treat, some dogs with tickborne diseases, chronic ear infections and a variety of other medical conditions. What we ask in adoption donations rarely covers the cost of veterinary care. That's where we depend on the generosity of people like you. Nancy and I were totally blown away to even be considered for receiving Sheepiepalooza's auction proceeds.

I have a special place in my heart for Nita and the MOESR, since that's who found our Sammie for us. I was thrilled to see that the proceeds of the Sheepiepalooza auction would be going to such a worthy cause. Bravo! :clappurple: :clappurple:

:clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: come on guys lets see what you all won :plead:
I won Mady, David and Kim's Canada basket....it is great!!

I unpacked it when I got home last night. We've already sampled the sinful maple leaf sandwich cookies! :cheer: :cheer:
Todd was really pleased w/ the maple syrup - he makes pancakes a lot. :high5:
The wine will need to wait until an appropriate time.... :lmt:
...and so much more - it's like the never ending goody basket :D :D
We got Dawn's basket and I am resisting opening the wine tonight. I want to wait until the weekend when we can savour it (or until David falls asleep so that I can have it all to myself!)

WOW all I can say is YUMMO, OK I did miss that posting :P

Mady shame shame shame no poutine in the treats basket :?

Dawn does it beat "Tim Tams" ? :rimshot:
OOOOOOOO...had me at french fries and bar food!!!!

Does sound yummy!
Well I don't know if the poutine beats Tim Tams, BECAUSE I DIDN'T GET ANY!!

Those Tim Tams are yummy, but it's been a few years....I think some could appear in the mail to refresh my memory???? :plead:
Ahhhh, I thought about including a bag of real fresh cheese curds (you'd have to provide the fries and gravy), but wasn't sure it would last the trip, also thought it might be weird for anyone who didn't know what poutine was(and I guess there are people who didn't read that infamous post? :twitch: ). I did add a bag of Lay's Ketchup chips, can't believe you guys don't have ketchup chips down there, they're among the top-3 flavours in Canada and my favourite

And who knew Minnesota had wine? :twitch: I wasn't even sure if Minnesota was a real place!
How wonderful it is that such a great group of people working together can make such a difference in the lives of so many deserving sheepies. Kudos to all of you!!!

We opened the Ketchup chips! They are interesting...but I'm not the chip person in the family... 8)

Todd is definitely the potato chip person at our house.
And you are right - we don't have them here.
We have dill pickle ones - and i HATE them, as I hate pickles :x :x
