Eenie, Sequoia, Meenie Boy and Roger

This week my heart has broken several times. I try to console myself with the fact that I was able to provide you with good lives the rest of your days when other humans failed you. Yet, I too always question did I do everything I could? I will miss my ancient bunnies Sequoia, was one of the first bunnies from Small Animal Rescue aprox 8 years ago..soon to be followed by 17 more dumped and discarded domestic bunnies. You spent your last days munching grass and tasty dandelion leaves amongst your friends. Eenie passed the previous week and Meanie Boy who seemed otherwise healthy but was bonded to you and never left your side and stayed next to you when it was apparent you were on your last day - passed the following day. He wanted to join you at the bridge.

Roger, who I always said was an angel in disquise. My beautiful orange tabby whom I first met in Isolation many years ago. There was an outbreak of URI at the shelter and I grabbed you along with 9 others to recover at my home. Only yourself and Sable were adults , the rest were kittens. Sable was so sick she was unable to hold up her head and had to have 2 drops of liquids at a time in her mouth. You sat next to her and held her up as well as sat with all the sick kittens. Each recovered and were adopted, except for Sable whom I adopted myself. You on the other hand were very much in demand when word got out of you special skills. When I gave you the news you were staying put..I posted on here many years ago a photo of your smiling face.

Eventually, 60 other fosters came and went and every single time you approached them and put them at ease and would nurture the sickly ones until they recovered. You spent your last days with your friends, eating good food, and bringing you in to say goodbye was one of the hardest things I had to do. Even the vet said through her tears ' this one will be greeted by many at the bridge".

I will miss you all

:( oh that is so sad. Hugs to you, you look after your animals so well your heart must be breaking......but they are all happy together over the Bridge...xxxx :hearts:
I was just thinking how dry my eyes were, where are the drops? No longer. It is so hard to lose just one, but to have this cluster leave you all together, what a broken heart you must have!! Know they have been in heaven with you. :ghug:
I am so sorry. You gave them a wonderful life and they in turn gave to others.
Oh Marianne, I'm so sorry for all of your losses.

:ghug:

I don't know how you can go though this over and over again. You must be the strongest person in the world. Thank you for all you've done for our furry friends.
Marianne, all I can say is that you are truly an angel here on earth.

:ghug: :ghug:

Marianne you are my angel! Your love and compassion for all those discarded animals is truly awe- inspiring. My heart is breaking for you and the tears are flowing. Sweet Roger, truly an angel on earth. May God's grace comfort you during this most difficult time.
:ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
How difficult is it to sit at a computer with angel wings as big as yours? You have nothing to regret or feel bad about. You've done what others can't/wouldn't/didn't. Be proud, be strong and be there for yourself this time.

It's folks like you that breathe life into others on this site. You make us want to be better people. And I know I'm not alone in that thought.

Peace be with you and your home.
Vance
Oh Marianne--so very sorry for your losses. Special thoughts and prayers go out to you. :ghug: :ghug:
I'm so sorry for all of your losses.

:ghug:
Thanks so much everyone for your kind words as they have helped comfort me. I appreciated the condolences and thoughts sent my way.

Marianne
Oh Marianne. :(
You've opened your heart and home to so many. Whether they spend just a brief time with you as part of their
journey to a better life or stay with you forever, it does mean you'll suffer more heartache than most of us. But
what a wonderful life they have had because you cared to make difference. :hearts: I'm sorry this hurts so much.

:ghug:
I'm so sorry for all this loss. I don't think anyone but you could have given all the love you did.
:ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
How sad to see them go but how wonderful to know that you gave each of your beloved furbabies another chance at life and the best possible home for the rest of their days.
I am so sorry for your loss. :ghug:
Marianne - :ghug: BIG HUGS :ghug: to you.

Your gang is so lucky to live with you. I know these 4 were enjoying the very best years of their lives while at your house.

They got the great life, you all benefited from knowing each other.
