"The" Wedding

I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about. Are you going to watch?

Dh and I were watching something on T.V. about them and I was surprised that Dh sat through the whole thing and we actually discussed things about it.

Its on here at 4:00am here, live. I don't get up for anyone at that time. As dh says, I'll watch the postgame.

I'm happy for them, but I am not interested in getting up. I figure I'll see every detail 100 times in the day(s) to follow.
For me it is kind of like watching the Oscars-it is all about the clothes. Which is odd, because generally I wear baggy sweats and t-shirts, so don't care what I wear, but it is fun to watch what THEY wear. Especially because the English wear hats to weddings. Amazing, created by artists, won't keep your hair dry in a rain shower hats. Will I wake up before dawn to see hats? Nope. But I will record it! I can then fast forward through the men in their boring old suits and just look at the women's hats.
I'm sure I'll watch, rather hard not to but think I feel sorry for Kate, that long walk down the aisle and everyone waiting for her to make a mistake. People aren't very forgiving. I'm sure the clothes will be interesting, not in my budget but interesting.
Tivo --will be my friend that day! I am interested in watching it--watched the other one over 30 years ago--not really great history but history nonetheless! I do love a good fairytale!
I'll be on vacation but when I get back to the hotel room I'll watch the recaps at night. I'm sure E! TV will have a 2 hour special.

What kind of gown do you think Kate will wear? I say something very modern, very Vera Wang. Strapless sheath. With a jacket or something for the church.
I hope it's not like Diana's. Her's was impressive but really not a style I would be drawn too.
I DID NOT like Diana's dress. I thought it swallowed her.

Did I forget 8O to mention that sixteen years ago, Dh and I were married on the same day.

My wedding DID NOT get that kind of reaction.

Me too! I'm not an Oscar watcher either though.
i was working night shift in L&D, we
ALL had our tv's on and watched!
I'm sure I will watch it........ if i'm here in the country.
I'll dvr it just in case..............
Loved it, loved the wedding, loved her gown way better then Lady Di's as she did not look like a parachute gone wrong, very tastefull gown and also very Princess Grace style. She was soooo relaxed and every aspect of the ceremony and after was just "Perfect"

Them being together for 8 years hopefully this Royal match will stand the test of time. I reckon within 12 months there will be the patter of little feet happening.

Her sister Pippa was just as beautifull too and so were the little pages and flower girls.

Also you have gotta luv men in uniform also
THE HATS!!! I wanted hats and I got hats. And I enjoyed the music. I have a soft spot for the fan fare, love horns! I thought that her dress was lovely and people seemed genuinely happy.
I didn't get up to watch the "real thing" but have been watching the replays. I have to say, I think her gown was absoluting stunning. Loved the hats too! And I am NOT a hat person myself.......I look dorky in hats. Loved the pagentry too but then I am a lover of historical novels also. I am sure we'll hear the down side of "how expensive it was in a time that the country couldn't spare the expense" but sometimes it's nice to let go of the everyday things that drag us down & simply enjoy something pretty. Gives us hope there is more to life than our everyday routines.

Now...off to wash windows   (speaking of humdrum everyday routines.................)
I didn't want to watch it, but... I happened to be up and couldn't avoid it. Started with watching princess diana's wedding first... and then I TOTALLY got into the whole thing. Obsessed even on Friday. :)

I heard on Oprah something like Prince Charles (Diana made sure William wasn't the same way) has never put toothpaste on his toothbrush. That's crazy.
I loved the dress too, thought they both looked very happy so maybe this marriage has a real chance. I do know they asked for charitable contributions instead of gifts and think they are both much more down to earth.

Love bad boy Harry.

I wonder if he wipes his own bottom?

Honestly... it's what I wondered too (that eddie murphy movie Coming to America)

She said the two palaces operate completely different.

It was something like...

When prince william wants ice cream w/the queen.
queen intercoms kitchen for it.
kitchen intercoms pastry person for ice cream
that person intercoms for the stainless steel room for the plate
they intercom the glass room for the bowl that will go on top of that
they intercom the linen room that will place a napkin between the plate and the bowl
20 min. later, she has ice cream.

when p. william is in his own palace, he walks into the kitchen and asks the chef for ice cream (the chef being the person on oprah). the chef says "go get it."
