Cookie is adorable!
:lmt: I can see the resemblance between a penguin and an OES. They are both black and white, wiggle their butts, and nip!

This little guy is almost as cute as a sheepdog puppy! :hearts:

Laurie and Oscar
And don't forget a high pitched bark I mean squeak or squeal, very pot casse.
Very cute cookie!

Both dogs jumped up and ran around the house looking for what was making that noise.
I make that same exact noise when Joan strokes my breast like that.

...but nobody wants to see THAT video.

8O AMEN!

I want to work where there are small penguins running loose. How cute is Cookie. I saw this on another website (I think cuteoverload) and someone said Cookie is a fairy penguin and there are colonies of them in New Zealand. Do we have any Kiwis on board who can verify????
paula,
wasn't too sure about having any kiwi's.

Paula, you need to come and visit with me. :excited:

We have Fairy penguins in Victoria, Aus. Much to my disappointment they have been renamed and are no longer called fairy penguins they are "little penguins". Naff name if you ask me.

A few hours drive from me is Philip Island. Every evening hundreds of FAIRY penguins swim back to their burrows for the night after a hard day fishing. I've been to see them! Its amazing!!!! :clappurple: Its right on dusk and it looks like a grey mist on the water, as they come in to shore. NO idea how they all come at the same time.

When I was there it was coming up to sheding season so the penguins go out every day and feast and get really fat because once they shed their waterproof feathers they can't swim for a number of days while they grow in the new ones. So they have to stay onland and live on their fat reserves.

They were soooo cute!! :aww: The fatest penguin waddled right up the sand almost up to the audience. He was so fat that he kept falling splat on his belly. :D I think the reason he ended up only a few feet from the audience was he was so focused on staying upright and waddling that he forgot to look where he was going. The park ranger who was supervising was gorgeous too. I've never seen a grown man look so proud. It was like it was his little kid who just made his first home run.

Anyone who wants to visit I promise to take them to see the FAIRY penguins, no little penguins for us. Kim? David? you guys into cute wildlife??

We are Canadian, it is in our genetic code to be into cute wildlife! And it is in my genetic code to be into handsome, passionate wildlife rangers. Is there anything more attractive than a man who is passionate about his work? I must confess, we are those people who will watch wildlife documentaries and be riveted to the screen. Just last week we watched the Crocodile Hunter movie-so that must qualify us! The only issue with cute wildlife is that David always wants to smuggle them home.

As for Australia, we are seriously considering that as our next big trip. We've actually tossed around the idea of moving there for a bit, as it seems like one of those places that you need more than a few weeks holiday to really experience. Darn tough quarantine laws, I think, though. Can you fix those? Imagine Mady in Aus! She would come back with the cutest accent! Woof, woof, mate!
Sorry can't do much about the quarantine laws. Apparently there's some concern we won't have any cute wildlife left if we lift the quarantine rules.

That's David and I both. Left to my own devices I'd have an illegal menagerie.
