Hi everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that I put my depsoit in on a puppy in [some state]. SHe will be born around May 21. I am getting her from [Sorry, that breeder has requested not to be mentioned on the forum]. What a neat lady. Very reputable breeder, certifies eyes, hipes and thyroid etc. She even teaches a grooming class if people can come back and learn how to groom their babies! Her dogs are from the [some breeder] line. How fun.

I am saying lots of prayers that she adapts to living in my apartment with me and that she falls in love with me the way I already have with her! I am sure it will take time, but I am willing to make this commitment for her lifetime as I'm sure she'll give the love and dedication back to me 100 fold. She isnt even here yet! AhHH!! She is getting a crazy mommy! I am just so excited. This also gives me some time to get everything together, investigate puppy classes, get my crate, and find a vet.

I know an apartment isnt ideal, but I have spoken to a few people who have successfully raised sheepies in apartments, we just have to take lots of walks! Any other suggestions are very welcome. I should get her around the end of July.

Thanks to all. Please send words of encouragment and honesty!

-Lauren

Where is she at in [some state]?
She is in [Sorry, that breeder has requested not to be mentioned on the forum].

Congrats, Laruen! No looking back - press on!
Congratulations!!!! I think I posted before about rasing an OES in a small area. You'll do fine, just be vigilant about walks and outings. With the litter not due til 5/21 you really have a long wait ahead of you!!! I'm picking up a new puppy on Sat that I've been waiting for since before he was born and it's seemed like FOREVER!! Good Luck, keep busy while you wait reading everything you can aboput OES and dogs. I recommend reading the book The Dog Listener: Learn How to Communicate with Your Dog for Willing Cooperation, by Jan Fennell (sorry couldn't help but get a plug in!)
Tigerlily is from [Sorry, that breeder has requested not to be mentioned on the forum] and is very healthy with a superb temperment. She is great with my 3 and 8 year olds

Who are your pup's parents?

Well that particular breeder took offense at a single post that was less than 100% complimentary and threatened oes.org with legal action if it was not removed. I offered to either leave it up with all of the positives, or to take everything down. I also offerred to give the breeder wide lattitude in defendeing itself, and encouraged the breeder to post in it's defense. Well, the breeder declined to accept that offer and insisted the material be removed, so that breeder will not be mentioned again here on the forum.

This forum will not be dictated to by someone who wants it to be only a form of advertising, and not an open and forthright discussion.

If that breeder wishes to reconsider it's position, then I would consider reinserting all of the wonderful things that have been said about it, and also the thread which has some negative content, too.
Good job, Ron! Your actions are greatly appreciated by those of us who truly love and want to protect the breed!
