Black freckles around eyes

Charm is doing well, growing fast, and is 25 lbs at her 16 week check up. She is adorablely happy go lucky, a wee timid at times and has my heart :hearts: :hearts:

Rocky and I noticed black freckles beginning around both her pink rimmed eyes. They resemble beauty marks. Please say this is natural pigmentation. I researched several threads and came to that conclusion, but I'm not sure. Charm is our first puppy and we've not encountered this in any other dog.

Thank you for any help, I'd take a picture but can't get her to stay still that close. She wants to play with the camera.

Butchy has the same thing.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm finding relief in Butchy's freckles or beauty marks  he is gorgeous, how old is he now?
I suppose it's a normal occurrence. Our vet didn't remark on it earlier this week, but I didn't point it out either. Thanks, ICH, and have a wonderful Sunday!
It should be normal pigmentation. And it keeps coming throughout their life. :D
Thank you Dawn. It's quite becoming, now that it's normal. Twin beauty marks on each eye 8)
Howie had little black freckles around his one eye same as Charm. His little spots grew together and now it looks cool with the black outlining the eye. The other eye is surrounded by dark fur so I have not noticed the outline as much.

Glad to hear Charm is doing so well. :hearts:

It' s nature's "eyeliner". Violet has it on her one blue eye and some around her brown eye My Aussie, China, has the eyelinger around both of her blue eyes.
Brenda, thanks for the compliment on Butchy, I think he's great too. He's 19 months old.
Normal, pigment, some have nice evan eye liner others get it in bloches here and there, till it joins up more around the eyes, they keep throwing new pigment most of there lives.

Wait till you see above the nose leather, freckles happening there on the muzzle and sometimes it eventually all adds up to form quite a black skin area on the muzzle.

I hate it when those lovely pink nails that are easier to cut start turning black, yes they can change too in time as well, so darn hard to cut, last time with syd I trimmed his one and only black nail we had a bleeder that I thought would never stop. His sis has more black nails then him and there mother all black now. Wished they stayed pink way easier then you can see how far down you need to trim them

Sound like your little sweetie is going to have great pigment
Thanks everyone for the information on this new step of puppyhood. I'll be sure to watch out for the black nails :(
Black pigment ( eyeliner) around the eyes is preferred and not often accomplished. It happens slowly so what might look like black freckels now, may eventually turn into beautiful black eyeliner everyone will be envious of!

Congrads on your first time OES pup! They are wonderful dogs. Enjoy!
