Barking at new "friend"

So I started seeing a guy and whenever he comes over and we hug; Langley barks. He also butts in when I am giving Laika affection as well. He is so annoying. Any suggestions??

get a different breed???????

(only kidding)

Heart and Pearl do that when Dino and I hug...Heart gets jealous that 'dad' isn't paying attention to HER...and Pearl gets jealous that 'mom' isn't paying attention to HER.....

We do it just to aggrevate them...... :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
Tiggy does this too! Not so much when Wayne and I hug, then she jumps up and sticks her nose in between us.

But if I'm sitting on the couch snuggling with Rastus she comes and barks right in his face. A really loud bark that comes from way down deep and makes her front feet jump up off the floor a couple of inches.

It's really annoying because I think the best thing to do in a situation where they are demanding attention is to ignore them completely. But I'm stuck on the couch and being deafened by a rowdy sheepie who is right in my face so I make her go and lie on her bed and then go straight back to patting Rastus. It seems to be helping a bit. Or maybe I'm just kidding myself. :plead:
DH and I met just after Oliver came into my life. Up until that point, Oliver believed I was his property. Everytime DH would hug, kiss, or cuddle, Oliver would bark relentlessly and try to wedge between us. It drove me crazy!

We broke him by standing close to a door while hugging. When he started his rant, we walked him to the other side of the door and closed it. When his barking stopped, we would open the door and give lots of praise and we would hug (very quickly) again in front of him. It took a week of walking him out the door and waiting before he got the idea. It was a week of many interupted moments.
Baley and Baxter both do this--Baxter worse than Baley. Our 'no-bark' works fairly well but they will still wiggle and try to get between us. Our first two also did this so we just figure it is a 'price to pay' and grin and bear it! :D
I stopped hugging Todd..... :sidestep:

no, actually not, but I couldn't resist!

......and I believe I have mentioned our bedroom is a dog-free zone.....yep, another of the many benefits......
I might try getting my friend to give him treats when he is not barking to start. I wish there was something I could do when he isn't around. So he doesn't even have to deal with it. Most people are so easy going about dogs  and their ways.
Does your friend have a problem with it or does he find it cute or endearing?
I don't find it cute or endear myself. It is loud and high-pitched he never really grew out of his puppy bark. The other day he ran across the coffee table and coaches trying to get between us. Naughty. I think I should ignore but jeesh.....
I feel your pain. I just can't ignore Tiggy's loud, high pitched bark right in my face while I'm patting Rastus. It hurts our ears. So I get up tell her to go on her bed and stay and then ignore her. Twice I've put her in another room because she wouldn't stop.

When she stays on her bed and behaves while I finishing patting Rastus THEN I go over and give her some lovin' too. But she has to wait a goodly amount of time till it's her turn.
Moe is 14 months old. My husband and I have raised MOe since a pup. Moe however really bonded with me even though hubby is home all day. When we go to kiss when I am leaving or going to work..starting about a month ago..Moe will Jump up and try to get in between!!He never did it before but as we all know he "owns" me. LUcky my husband just laughs.
Same problem here. I just take mine upstairs (the boyfriend)
