To non-pet owners who visit and complain about our dogs.

During the holidays my BIL brought a friend with him for dinner. This person did not appreciate our friendly sheepdogs. To that person I dedicate these thoughts:
1. They live here, YOU don't.
2. I you don't want thier hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on
all fours and don't speak clearly.

And those are our feelings!

i guess that is why no one comes to see me lol
I also always add--

be ready to be drooled on, sat on, and licked on. And probably jumped on when you first walk in.
There WILL be barking for no reason, and a wrestling match or 2 while you TRY to watch TV.

Then I tell them - if your not afriad of hair, drool, and noise- your welcome to come visit. If you dont like any of the above--please wave as you drive by!..
I think about when we needed home health nurses in for my mom and when Bob and I had surgery I told the agency they better like dogs!! We have 6, 5,9 or whatever was here at the time. One nurse was allergic and had to use her inhaler but came back every time because she enjoyed the dogs so. What do people do who don't like kids when friends have a baby?? Most of my friends are dog lovers . The rest have to put up with it!!!
I agree 1000%!!!!! I also let them know if they plan to stay the night, don't be surprised if they wake up next to one of them, after all, it's their room and they are ok with sharing. The beds are the only furniture they are allowed on. I know, I am a REALLY REALLY MEAN MOM! I tell them that all of the time.
You forgot to mention having your feet stepped on, being "herded", not being an object in their way as well as skidding across a tile floor after they drink water, wagging their bums knocking you off balance. Oh yea, be very careful on the stairs. lol

Regarding Home Health Care...... I also told the services I had dogs, big ones, and be prepared. My Therapist couldn't believe while I was doing the leg exercises on my bed, the dogs were also on my bed wrestling! Only one nurse was a problem. She got angry they touched her things because she had to go to other patients homes. I told her to pack up her stuff and leave because they live here. I called the service and told them I didn't want her back because she wasn't a 'good fit' for my family.
Well said. I've always said that if someone doesn't like my dogs they may feel free to stay home.

I'd rather spend an evening with my dogs than anyone else I know. Sorry extended family, but that goes double for you guys!

"fur" sure!! Only guests we have had in the last year were fellow OES owners who are also serious pack rats......my place is Home Beautiful compared to them. But who cares! I know my house smells of dogs......can't remember when I shampooed the dogs or the carpets. My Dyson pickes up at least a Maltese worth of hair each week.

Nooo... it's just many of us live too far away from you to drop in for coffee and a sheepdog. 8)

Nice vacuum! You and I would mistakenly think we had one more dog without it!
This is very good. My favorite is "They live here, you don't"

Its my house and I'll live how I want, dogs and all. If you don't like it, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
I do not know about sheepies living here too.
Beatrice and Rolf are kind enough to let stay at their house!!!
They are home more than me -- Therefore it must be theirs.
I agree too and it's easy because we don't get a lot of company, those that do better be able to adapt.

I have a dyson also, makes a big difference, you can just watch the tank fill up.
