toot toot

Well everyone has mentioned about how important it is to keep their sheepie slim and when someone mentioned that Bella might do better with the 20 inch jumps in agility if she lost a few pounds I thought of everyone on the forum and the recommendations they gave about diet options. She is fairly slim at 71.5 lbs but if she could jump better and be more fit at 68 lbs I figured why not try the green bean diet. I went ahead and added a few green beans, maybe 20 small pieces about an inch long in with her kibble. She wasn't that thrilled and only ate them when I hand fed them to her. I thought it was worth it for her hips and if I had to do this little extra step.

this morning while we were getting ready to head out for the day Bella went and gave her self a little head scratch with her back leg and......"Toot, Toot, Toot" "Toot, Toot, Toot" I look over at her, I know it wasn't me, and she looks back..."yes mom?"

Bella has NEVER tooted before and I have to guess it was the beans since that was our only change. Needless to say I think I and going to treat with carrots instead of the green beans. Anyone else notice this downside to green beans???

I have given my dogs green beans and carrots with no problems. They also like fruit, pickels, garlic, watermelon, grapefruit, oranges, pickeled cucumbers and onions. No problem. When I give them milkbone type products, they toot up such a storm it smells like skunk. It makes my eyes smart and I could use a gas mask. When I cough and have to leave, they too look at me like 'What?'. I have been known to spray the room with Lysol and their little buns. It is really annoying when they plant their buns in your face and do it. That's just cruel.

My boys are on greenbeans a couple times a week to keep them in "shape". I have not noticed anything unusual. They love greenbeans.
Nope, nary a problem. Now BBQ pork and beans, yeah :twitch:
Tonka doesn't need food- He just farts all the time.

Every other step up the stairs...FART!
Plop down on his bed...FART! (sounds like a whoopie cushion  )

He eats high quality food, and no treats. Hes just a stinky boy!
Sometimes its just the change in diet and within a few days everything settles down. But beans (including the green variety) are known for causing gas in human digestive systems so I guess they may do it to canine digestive systems too.
Maybe I/we should start fighting fire with fire.........
after the "tooting" started I stopped the green beans and switched to raw carrots. Instead of putting them in her kibble I just added a little extra training and treat with the carrot bits. She LOVES the carrots :hearts: :hearts: :cheer: :excited: I think more than the special dog treats I get her. now when she sees me go to the kitchen and open the fridge she is right there hoping I am going for the veggie drawer.

My dogs LOVE carrots...they do a carrot dance!

When I saw the subject "toot toot"
I wanted to say "Beep Beep"
