UK dog food

Summer has been on arden grange chicken and rice for the last 2 years. Over the last 6 weeks or so she has been going to the toilet much more. In the end she went to the vets as her tum was really upset. I contacted arden grange to ask if the ingredients had changed and they sort of skated round the issue. A friend has recommended Green Dog Food. I got a packet today, even though the sales assistant said it isnt any good. If you read the website it sounds good but what I am asking is what do UK folks use? I prefer the dry food as I just dont like the smell of the tinned stuff. Thankyou. ps Summer has a really sensitive tum anyway. x

I feed raw but I know a lot of people use this company

I feed pro plan and they do a sensitive one
I feed Rastus Proplan sensitive skin and stomach. He does really well on it and it really helps control his itchy skin and irritable gut.

I was reading too fast, and I saw it as itchy gut the 1st time through :lmt:
I'm not in the UK, but thought I would chime in on this one anyway, as I have TONS of experience with food switches. :) I have found, with Oscar, that the best quality food is not necessarily the best food for him and his delicate system. We tried different brands of kibble, including prescription diets, to no avail. When he was on the high end, great quality food, his blood work always looked excellent, but his gut was in an uproar.

When we finally found a protein source he could handle (venison), it turned out that the best quality venison dog food was too rich for his system. Oscar eats Nature's Recipe Venison and Rice, which is by no means junk food, but I do feel that there are better venison products out there. Just not better for Oscar and his tummy.

Also, I have to mention that Oscar does much better eating a primary diet of canned food, with a small mix-in of kibble, as opposed to straight kibble. We found this out by accident, after Oscar had a particularly bad episode of pancreatitis, and we were starting him out on the canned in an effort to transition him back to all kibble. I noticed that his gut was so much quieter, and it took him much longer to eat. Talked to my vets and they felt there was no need to continue transitioning, so now Oscar gets a little kibble in with his meals, and kibble as treats. I know you're not fond of the tinned food, but I have to say that at least tinned dog food isn't anywhere near as nasty as tinned cat food! BLECH!

Just being me (Cement Head  ), I would call Arden Grange again, trying to get a different customer service rep, and see if I could get a definitive answer. The fact that they are not being up front with an ingredient switch is really not cool.
