I am trying to run the Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 update using Windows Update, but the download hangs at 31%.

Anyone else seeing this problem?

Well, now it's stuck at 35% complete. Woo Hoo, now we're cooking with gas!

I read that I'll have to reboot during the install. I wonder if it will hang up after rebooting. It will create a restore point during the install process, but will it continue on it's own? I want to go to bed!
95% Complete now! Must be a whole lot of people downloading this. I have a 25 Mbit connection and it's only 70 megabytes. It should download in seconds.
It is installing now!
The installation looks to be about 2/3 complete.
Still only about 3/4 or 75% complete. It has taken 66 minutes so far, most of it waiting time for the download. I have to say it's not exactly spinning my disk off it's spindle right now... :-(
YAY! It's asking me to reboot now!
Seventeen minutes later, and voila! Total time: 1:26. 86 minutes. Woo Hoo!

Only thing is... What is in this service pack? I haven't read that there are any material upgrades beyond security, so I don't know what it's been doing for the last hour and a half.
That's daft a fresh win7 install only took 20 minutes on my PC

What is the SP1 messing about with I wonder?
When we bought the new computer last Dec. it came with XP and we also received the Windows 7 disk to upgrade. So far I am sticking with XP, I am really afraid of 7 because I know the mail has changed along with a few other things. People I know that have upgraded had quite a bit of trouble getting used to it, of course none of us are genius's on the puter.
DITTO! I've got the Windows 7 disk here, had it for almost a year.....coward that I am.
Win7 isn't to bad now, I like many of the new features. Microsoft always needs a couple years on the market to work out the product kinks.

I used to work on computer issues later in the evening, but found it never failed the download speed dropped to snails pace at that time of the day. Now I have a hard rule and will not start a download after 11pm.
Win 7 is streets ahead of XP especially for lack of crashability a well worthwhile upgrade if you have a powerful enough PC

By the time you finish dallying about they'll be on win 9!
