PIN size

I am thinking about getting the CC wood pin brush and am debating the pin size. I already have the fushion brush and the T brush in the 27mm but I generally shave Miley once a year and Jasper at least twice. So with the shorter coats I was thinking about trying the 20mm but am not sure if the pin size would be too small.

Thanks

Just wanted to say...

Pin length is the same on all wooden pin brushes. The only variable is the size of the brush. I have the large (8 1/2" vs. the 7 1/2") oval.

As for the metal pinned CC brushes, I have three lengths. I think of them as how firm a brush I want to use. The shorter the pins, the more firm the brush. I would think the shorter coat would benefit from a softer brush - but that's a guess, as my dog has always been in full coat.

Actually, the wooden pin brushes come in 2 lengths.

The original ones are 20mm pins, no matter what the brush size is. (large oval, small oval or oblong)

There is a new dipped version, which has a rubberized coating on the handle/body of the brush. They are called GroomGrip. They all have 27mm pins. They come in the large oval and small oval.

I had the original plain large oval, and then lost it. :(
I got one of the new dipped ones in January, and really love it.

I am using it on Chewie who's in coat, as well as on Bunny, my shaved foster who has about 1 1/2" of coat now. It works just fine on both.
I don't think I really needed the added pin length, but I really like the feel and grip on the dipped one. :D

And hi Becky :D
Ah thanks. How odd they haven't updated the website and yet they have printed and mailed updated catalogs!

I didn't look online, I got mine at a show in January....so they have been available for a little while, anyway.
Does seem odd they wouldn't have the online updated 1st! :lmt:
I bought a lot of CC stuff at a show in January too but obviously I was distracted by dryers and scissors! I even chatted with the CC rep for a long time at the Groomers Expo last weekend. And missed those brushes again!

As a side note it's really telling how this company is growing so quickly: the reps can't really explain the products anymore. If I hear one more time about what they use in their hair, I may scream. My OES's coat is nothing like their hair. I miss the days when our local Chris Christensen dealer also showed poodles. She knew that product line inside and out.
