st bernard/oes mix

Pyza is 10 year old St. Bernanrd and Sheepdog mix. I have Pyza since she was 6 weeks old. She is spayed and well behaved doggy; big girl. She LOVES to eat and looking around, oh yes looking around. She never liked to play catch or any other dog games but she will do almost anything for a tasty treat. We have another dog and two little kids and she is great with all of them. We love our girl very much but our current family situation does not allow us to give her a lot of attention. I would be selfish to keep her just because. I would like Pyza to have a house where she will have a nice, warm place to sleep and maybe a yard just to watch and sniff things. Serious inquires only please and thank you for looking. There is $150.00 adoption fee which will be donated to Thurston County Animal Shelter.

I have read and re-read this post, trying my hardest not to respond, and my heart is heavy. Though we never want to discourage people from coming here for help, I can't stay silent. Somehow, this poster thinks that a 10 year-old dog is better off leaving the only home she's ever known, because, after two kids, and another dog (younger? cuter?), the family can't give her enough attention. Wow.

Pyza, I hope your brief remaining years are good ones, and that you have a soft landing.

My thoughts as well.....I was figuring it is safer to just not say anything :|
Dawn, I struggled with posting. I tried not to be snarky, which is VERY difficult for me, , or judgmental, but I am hoping that the guest might come back and see things from a different perspective. I know, in the end, we are trying to help the dog, but sometimes I feel that in that process we let people off too easy.

I guess I am the closest poster to this dog being that its about 3 hours away from me. Its sad that they had that dog for 10 yrs and is now giving it up.

I did however forward it to the local seattle oes rescue. Hopefully all ends up well for this old girl.
