Women risk lives to save dogs that fell through ice

On one of the coldest days of the year a man drove his two dogs to Howard Beach in Chicago and abandoned them there. Luckily two women were walking on the beach and saw the dogs. The dogs were on the ice and had fallen through. The women went into the icy water and pulled the dogs out.

The dogs were brought to Bark Bark Club, which is one of the boarding facilities my rescue partners with. They were definitely brought to the right place, they are getting all the care they need. They are currently at the vet and when they get back they will be joining our rescue :)

Wow, what a kind soul. She literally risk her life for the dogs...that really says alot about her.
What a heartwrenching story! Glad it had a good ending!
What a wonderful story and there s/b a special place for people that risk their lives to help an animal in need.
I'm so glad someone was in the right place at the right time...and that everyone is all OK. They are very lucky.
I hope there is a REALLY REALLY REALLY special place for people who do these awful things to animals. I also would like to see very specific things done to people who hurt animals!!! Okay, they aren't legal. God love these women that risked their lives for those dogs.
Some Guardian Angels were certainly busy!

Agree with dogmom, there has to be a REALLLLLLY bad place for the jerks that treat animals so cruely. We have a case in WI about quite a few teens that were doing thrill killings of animals at night. Thank goodness an annymous tip came in on them but it happened in OCT and they've still not been charged. They had planned on a kill where the one that killed the most won. You have no idea what I'd do to them if I could and it would not be legal.
It really was an awful thing to do, and I hope someone is doing something to find the owners and prosecute them. I am really happy though that the media and all the animal lovers in Chicago is rallying around these women and the owners of the dog daycare that took them in. It's been a group effort for sure!
Maybe we should form a posse and get 'em!!!! LOL
